Funny story - my daughter and I went to this Save On Food store on May 21 to order a birthday cake for my wife. We chose the style of one cake on the display shelf but STRESSED that we would need a freshly baked one tomorrow because the original label on the display cake showed it’s already 4-day old (made on May 18). The staff, of course, guaranteed. The next day, when I picked up the cake, I noticed that the cake on display was gone. When I casually mentioned this to my family at home, my daughter said she remembered one within the circle of gumballs on top of the cake yesterday was in a slightly different colour. And luckily, we took a picture of the cake yesterday because she liked it so much. So, I compared the photo with the actual cake and discovered in shock that it was the SAME cake. In short, they lied to us about making a new cake, and instead, they only printed out a fake label to put on this more than five-day-old one, indicating it was packaged on May 22. I returned to the store today to file a complaint with the store manager. She is actually the same person who guaranteed a fresh cake three days ago. When I mentioned that I noticed the display cake was gone, she confidently said they had thrown away the old one on Thursday night (May 21, two days before the original expiration date?!). I said calmly with a smile, “Actually, I know for a fact that you didn’t.” :-))) Because of my undeniable evidence, they eventually admitted it was the exact cake and apologized, saying this was due to miscommunication in their process. They merely refunded me, well, actually, one dollar less than what I paid. I wonder: What type of ‘miscommunication’ made it okay to knowingly serve an almost expired birthday cake with a fake label to the customer? As a communications professional myself, I would recommend that the store manager listen carefully to the whole complaint story first before making any comments next time. That way, you will not tell another lie to cover up the previous lie, am I right?

Something is seriously wrong with the produce department at Save On Foods, off Cumberland, Saskatoon. I ordered 15 items online, mostly produce. Their website said every single one of them was in stock. A few hours before pickup I got the email that 7 out of 15 items were out of stock. Big waste of time. Also some of what I did get was garbage. They charged me $5.59 for 3 teeny tiny rotting beets. I have a picture with a penny for a size comparison, after I scrubbed them up and removed most of the brown slime. After peeling the scaley rotting outside of the beets, there will be nothing left. I also was charged for two bananas that were already rotten at the end. I don't expect perfection when someone else picks out your groceries, but I should not be charged for garbage either. Edit: Save-on-Foods did refund my credit card for the beets and bananas.

I've grabbed a few times their vegetable fried rice and chow mein from the deli and found them to be dry and unflavorful. I paid around $40 for two small containers with lemon chicken and can't see any value or quality offered. I can get more for less from a restaurant that is actually fresh and delicious. Won't be purchasing again.

The pharmacy team at this Save on Foods location is nothing short of extraordinary. I have been availing myself of their services for some time now, and each experience reaffirms my admiration for their unwavering professionalism, courtesy, patience, and willingness to go the extra mile.

It’s the little things that make all the difference when you’re not feeling your best—like receiving a timely notification when your prescription is ready for pick-up. This team understands that, and they ensure you’re not left in the dark, alleviating some of the stress that accompanies illness.

Additionally, they offer side services such as blood pressure measurement to ensure that your medications will be effective, contributing to a comprehensive healthcare experience.

I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team. Save on Foods should recognize that this group of individuals is an invaluable asset to their operations. I strongly urge the company to not only appreciate and reward them but also consider having them share their best practices with other teams to elevate the level of service...

We live in BC and ordered 2 plants and cinnamon buns for delivery to our moms place in Saskatoon. We use Save on Foods delivery in BC all the time and have never had an issue so I assumed this would be a great way to deliver a Mother’s Day gift to our mom. I got an email saying order complete. Yet nothing was delivered to my moms place. I logged on my account to check my order in more detail. Both items (plants and cinnamon buns) said “item unavailable” yet my order said complete and delivered. My phone number in BC is listed on the order. If you are unable to complete an order, you need to call your customers. Why mark an order as “complete” when you can’t fulfil the order? We then called your store and talked to someone. She said they were out of both items and didn’t have anything to substitute it with. Really?? You have no other plant or pastry item you could send along?? Thank you for ruining our Mother’s Day surprise. I am beyond disappointed in your service and lack of...
