I had the worst experience with our server at Boston Pizza & will not ever be returning to the 8th street location.
We usually head to the Stonebridge location, and have had fantastic service there. The wait was 45 minutes on Friday at the Stonebridge location(our usual go to) so we decided to check out the 8th street location.
We had a table of 12, and they found a place for us. We got there at 5:59 PM. We were seated quickly which I'm thankful for since we did have a large group.
We were seated for awhile before our server came and got our drink orders like I’d say 20-30 mins. I started to get confused as to why we’d sat for so long without our food orders being taken. I assumed since we had a big group?
We were ready to order, and seen that groups who came in after us had already been served drinks AND order their food. We watched as food was being brought out to two tables who came in after us and our food order hadn’t even been taken yet.
I inquired to our server that we were ready to order and she said she’d be right back. She wasn’t.
The table beside us were seated two minutes before us, and had already been served drinks, their food ordered and they finished their food BEFORE we even got a chance to order our food.
Our order was finally taken at 6:50ish… we waited 50 minutes to order food. I debated walking out but had 5 tiny kids who loved Boston Pizza.
Between sitting down from 6:00 to 6:50 ish our server had only taken our drink orders (very late) given us our drinks and had not checked on us, had not talked to us or offered any communication. Or even a refill on drinks.
It took her about 50 minutes to take our food order. Meanwhile tables beside us were being brought out their food, while we didn’t even get our orders taken for food.
We finally ordered at 6:50 & ended up waiting almost another hour for our food to come out. Our server did not check on us once nor offer refills on our drinks while we waited. I went up to the front till probably around 7:30-7:40ish and explained how I’ve been watching people come in after us and be served their food, and leave while we haven’t received our food. The server came up to the front and said “I’m busy I have 5 tables” I told her “yes and that’s okay, but when you’re not communicating with us, checking in and not even taking our order that’s not okay. especially when people who got here after us are already gone and we haven’t received our food”
After that they started bringing out our food. We ordered appetizers and did not receive those until I went up to the front till and talked to them. A different server came and refilled our drinks. It was the most horrible experience.
Once we received our food almost 2 hours later, our server did not check on us nor ask how our food was.
We left right after our food and our kids did not even get their free treats from the kids menu. We were out of there at 8 PM.
This whole experience went from 5:59 to 8 o’clock when we finally paid and left.
I also find it crappy how we seen our server go and ask other tables beside us “hows your food? Is everything okay?” When she brought food to tables around us, but completely ignore us and not check on us. We did not ever receive a smile or friendly vibes from our server. We didn’t even receive plates for our large pizza. I Will never come back to...
Read moreI was in Saskatoon for the weekend and on Sunday Nov 20, 2016 my daughter wanted to go eat at Boston before we left, as we usually have a fair experience at Boston Pizza's in Edmonton. Was I mistaken! One of the worst experiences in a long, long time. They brought our drinks and let us sit for a very long time. When they eventually came to take our order, they never came back for refills, in almost forever!!! (It almost seemed racially motivated) When the food arrived, I dug my fork in to find a cold sticky gob of what was supposed to be spaghetti, then when pointing it out? They knew about it already and offered me a new one? Like why serve it then if you knew it bad? To wait and see if we would eat it, cause we wouldn't know? (Like peasants that wouldn't know the difference). Then offered to let me PURCHASE something else. My daughters steamed vegetables were far from steamed as they were ice cold and so we're her friends. The other spaghetti was just as bad, which they came later to say that we would not be charged for pastas. Hey! But that is when we got our refills!
The only thing that was prepared right? Was the salad. Pretty hard to mess something up that comes out of a bag?
I felt like we were racially profiled and purposely given very bad food and service so we would never eat there again, which would never happen anyway.
As a parent the most hurtful disappointing part that they will never feel is the hurt look on my daughters face.
5 stars. If I could take away more? I would! However, they only offer 5.
I would never eat there again in my life, which unfortunately? Probably pleases them more...
Read moreI recently visited Boston Pizza in Saskatoon and had a fantastic dining experience, largely thanks to the exceptional service provided by Eden and Ryan. From the moment we walked in, both were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They took the time to ensure every aspect of our meal was perfect, going above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Eden’s kindness and attention to detail were outstanding; he checked in with us at just the right times without being intrusive, making sure we had everything we needed. Ryan, too, demonstrated a high level of professionalism and humility, handling every request with a smile and making sure we enjoyed every bite of our meal. They worked together seamlessly and seemed truly committed to making our experience memorable. The food was fantastic, as always, but it was really the service that made our night special. Eden and Ryan brought the perfect combination of professionalism and friendliness, making us feel like we were not just customers but valued guests.
