I haven't visited Agincourt Mall in years, and I've noticed some significant changes since my last visit. It’s interesting to see that while some businesses have managed to survive, others have unfortunately closed down, which reflects the ongoing shifts in consumer habits and preferences. The plaza seems to attract a lot of elderly shoppers, giving it a unique atmosphere that caters to this demographic. The location serves a convenient purpose, particularly due to its direct connections to NoFrills and Walmart. This accessibility makes it easier for shoppers to pick up essential items without having to travel far. However, aside from these practical connections, I found that there isn't much to set the mall apart from other shopping plazas. The overall ambiance feels somewhat dated, and I believe it could benefit from a revitalization of its businesses and a more diverse range of offerings. More engaging shops or community events could enhance the experience for visitors. Overall, while Agincourt Mall is a decent place for quick shopping trips, it lacks the vibrancy and variety that could make it a more appealing destination.

Agincourt Mall is a dying, old, outdated mall. They do have a No Frills, Walmart, Dollarama, BMO, Burger King, Pizza Pizza, Congee Queen, Subway... Though the No Frills, Walmart, and Dollarama are the main stores that keep the mall alive. There's also a cannabis store right beside the Congee Queen. Inside the mall, there are a lot of closed down stores. There's a variety of stores within, such as the Chinese herbal store, furniture store, Chinese dollar store, manicure and hair salon, an employment centre, a Chinese bakery... There's no longer a Tim Hortons here. They haven't updated the signage yet. There are benches throughout the mall and potted plants (Real? Fake?). The mall is not busy, just people walking to and from the major stores. The major stores are where the majority of the people are at. The mall is in desperate need of a makeover or a overhaul... Mall looks os damn old and super outdated.

I heard it was the first indoor mall in Scarborough back in the 60s. Prime location. Conveniently located. Lots of parking. Surrounded with all the condos and apartments, the No Frills and Walmart are always busy. There are a few hidden gems in the mall - the fabric/sewing store being one of them. They have been in business for years and they have almost everything you need if you are looking to do some sewing. In the center of the mall there is this empty space which they finally did something with - adding some south-Asian inspired art. The mall is gonna be redeveloped into condos. I don’t know when that will happen but Tim Horton’s is also closed down. Let’s hope they will have a good supermarket to serve the residence in the neighborhood.

Walmart continues to be our main reason for visiting this mall. However, there are a few gems among the prominently Asian mom & pop style shops. If you're looking for kitchen gadgets that are superior quality at Dollar Store prices, then you need to check out the shop called 'Onsales Mart' next to No Frills and directly across from Tim Hortons. I picked up a garlic press and a manual can opener for a combined total of $10.98 plus tax. Both were of better quality than the ones offered by gourmet sites such as 'The Pampered Chef' and that's saying something! And the Pampered Chef equivalent gadgets would have set me back just over $50! As for the Dollar Store, well you get what you pay for. Their garlic press and can opener was plastic and didn't last a week. Contrast that with the Asian store's gadgets which I fully expect will last me a lifetime as they are well built solid stainless steel. Like I said, there are some little hidden treasures at the Agincourt Mall. It's well worth your while to stop in and poke around. For example, if you are into sewing, there's a little Asian shop called 'Worldsew'; not the prettiest display but if it has anything to do with sewing, I'll bet you they have ANYTHING you want and need somewhere in that store. JUST ASK - again, being a small mom-and-pop style shop, I found the owners to be EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful. My wife needed a rare color of thread and there were a couple of choices that looked very close. The owner opened both of the spools so we could see how the single strand would match with our fabric sample. Think you'll be able to get that level of attention and service in one of the big box stores? Once again, happy treasure hunting at the...
