Iām hesitant to give a glowing review of this place because I actually love it so much and donāt want more people to know about it. But that would be selfish.
Simply, this course is a hidden gem in the city. No power carts, tucked away into the Don Valley, most of the people that golf here seem to truly love the game and appreciate being able to squeeze in a quick 9 holes.
The proshop is close to the front tees and everyone working there seems to be family. The atmosphere really translates to the overall environment. People chat while waiting to Tee off at the first and it is a friendly un-intimidating atmosphere.
As for the course, it is charming. And I found the Greens to be in very good condition this year, even chatted with a greenskeeper this past season, who said the improved conditions are likely thanks to a switch in fertilizer they been using. I appreciated that.
One thing I really like about this course is that it isnāt too sloped. You can walk it with ease.
If I had one gripe, itās the price at $50. I canāt really complain as it doesnāt stop me from playing, but Iām surprised there isnāt a much cheaper rate for seniors or that you donāt save more if buying a package of 10+ rounds (I think you save $5 a round).
Attached is a video I took, late this season in early October. You can see some pretty big Salmon running up the Don Valley river.
Enjoy your time here!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove this course. Love the family that runs the course! When many are heading north Friday afternoons, I'm avoiding traffic and enjoying "The Royal Flem". The course is approximately 2600 yards. The greens are fairly large, albeit fairly slow. Not a lot of rough on the course, I assume in an effort to quicken the pace (maybe to reduce the maintenance time ;) The sand traps have taken a beating this year with all the rain. There's a single par 5 that is reachable in two for the long-hitters. And there's at least one par four that is reachable in one. The Don River twists throughout the course, although it really shouldn't be in play if you can keep your drives relatively straight (slicers and hookers beware). If you haven't yet experienced the course,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeware of entitled Karens!! Why is there no locked gate put up at the course? I drove to the golf course parking lot, thinking it was a park, started walking into the course and got yelled at by an entitled male golfer who had the audacity to assume i don't speak English 𤣠now he can see for himself if he was right. Is this the way your customers treat other human beings?? It's not my fault that there's no gate. A small sign the size of a peanut is not gonna cut it! When we're driving, we don't have time scanning for š„ sized signs! Our eyes are on the road trying not to run anybody down! If it's so private, š it! It looks like any other gorgeous park that of course, anyone else would want to enjoy. So put up a gate and watch your...
