Ather Mian, last night, at your front counter while you and I were talking about treating customers as friends for good customer service and a good human rapport:

Your cashier charged me $ 3 .96 for two small teas. I don't think that is a good example of your philosophy, your front line staff need training in fairness of pricing and honesty to the job and customers. A business is supposed to absorb the charges on a credit card and not pass it on to the customers - and definitely not a 33% charge ( most times we pay cash).

Now in comparison, I just wanted you to know that Your small 4/5 Oz cup is costing roughly about

400% more than Tim Hortons A 20 Oz Tim Hortons tea is 2.09

200% more than Starbucks, A 20 Oz Starbucks tea is 4.69

They both come with a sit down experience in a clean world class environment and a brand proposition and prestige.

The Hyderabad Palace( Chaikhana/Bhatiaarkhana) take out is a good " Chabutra " experience away from home . It's becoming a hangout point because of the little feel home and nostalgia factor for Hderabadis in Toronto. BUT this erratic pricing doesn't justify anything.

It won't be long before there's more people feeling ripped off or till a competition opens up in the vicinity.

My advice and feedback to you Ather Mian is enjoy the success while it lasts but also focus on long term pricing and customer experience strategy.

Your self indulgent reply speaks of how much ' out of touch ' you are , about people's feedback. Please take time to read what others are saying :-) ....

*It's not about returning 60¢ to one person if you are price gouging on all fronts and illegally charging 15/20% on credit cards When CRA comes or Better Business Bureau comes knocking your doors, you may have a lot of explanations to do ....

*60¢ each customer= 60$ ( that should easily fund your free sheerkhorma) but that's not the point here, that's the governments job to steal from the people and then give them freebies NOT your's.

And the 10 bucks certificate, you should save it for a rainy day to buy an umbrella.

Good luck with the attitude and arrogance - people are going to watch this with interest or till another semi-decent place opens up.

Being new to Scarborough I had to find a place to have my everyday Chai and give myself the regular dose of Hyderabadi food. After a friend’s suggestion, I visited Hyderabad Palace and was not disappointed at all. So the location is like a mini drive-in having space that’s shared among a few desi restaurants, one of them being SilverSpoon. There’s not much to talk about the ambience as following the COVID-19 government regulations, management is yet to resume Dine-in. However they continue serving customers through take-away. I believe Chai is something they’re really known for, as it tastes very close to what you would’ve had back in Hyderabad. They also serve snacks like puffs and biscuits which would go great with your chai. Having a small but specialised menu, they offer specials where things like Mutton Haleem, Chakhna and Talawa Gosht are mainly served during weekend (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) while Biryanis and other items remain available throughout the week. I’ve personally become a fan of their Chicken Biryani, which arguably is the best Hyderabadi Dum Biryani you might find in Scarborough. Where taste and portion size is enough to satisfy your Biryani cravings. Apart from Biryanis, chai and Indian Snacks, they also serve Murgh ka Achaar(Chicken) and Gosht ka Achaar(Beef) which I’m yet to try. But that’s all spicy stuff. To end your meal right, they also serve desserts like Gulab Jamun, Double Ka Meetha and Matka Kulfi as well. Thats not all, they also serve Sada Paan and Meetha Paan, just to complete the Hyderabadi food scene! I just bought my dinner from there and it was extremely disappointing. Bought romali roti which was made of whole wheat, didn't taste any where close to the authentic maize flour romali roti. Secondly chicken Biryani was a kachi akhni ( raw marination) Biryani. There was no masala or taste in it. It looked like we ordered white rice with a tinge of yellow color. Rice texture was good. Lastly went there specifically for chicken 65 which was the biggest loser. Extremely sour in taste, as if having fried chicken dipped in lemon juice. No proper chicken pieces. Felt like they packed the left over. I am sorry missed on the Biryani pic, but have chicken 65 image for real. I would never go back to waste money. The only nice thing was the irani chai or tea. People who know the authentic hyderabadi taste, would be highly disappointed with the food as I did. So we bought this Suhur special meal rice and two veg curries. They curries were good but rice was scarcely there. And man Haleem!!! Wierd taste oily and I think they used old cashews for garnishing so taste was completely off. And instead of ghee they used dalda that’s vegetable oil. A big NO for price and taste of Haleem. Not to deny their irani chai is the highlight of the place....
