Knowledgeable, friendly staff and great selection. Very fresh fish. I have been using the salmon, tuna and scallop for sushi-making for the past few years and you may never have tasted salmon this fresh. I stopped going to Snappers for this reason. The U10 scallops are bright, springy and sweet when pan seared or even as lightly dressed sashimi. Real black cod available here as well as fresh oysters, clams, mussels - not to mention, a wall of oils, vinegars, capers and preserves. Seems to be connected to some sort of wholesale seafood distributor, which maybe explains the selection...

Mike's Fish Market has been a staple in my life in Etobicoke since I was a kid. They have the freshest fish, wide selection of seafood, prepared dishes, and condiments and sides to go along with all the raw ingredients they have to offer.

There's really no better place to go in the West end of Toronto if you're serious about high quality fish. On top of that, the staff are friendly and attentive and always willing to help you out portioning the fish or giving tips to help with preparation.

Clean place, nice product, but I have to say there prices are crazy expensive! Maybe it was because of the holiday season but you get better prices at a chain store like Fortinos campaired to this Fish Market? I always thought you would get better prices from a fish supplier? For example same type of oysters i bought from Mike's were more than double the price of Fortinos (12 oysters at Mike's was $25, as Fortinos was only $1 per oyster...same type)!!!! This place would have got 5 stars from me but I thought their prices...
