Cora's has been my favorite place for brunch for several years until today. We were "unserved" by A-N-I-S-H-A (thanks for spelling it out for us). First, she did not take our order or offer us even coffee for 15 minutes. After trying to make eye contact and having to ask another server for her, we asked for water and coffee, mentioned the table had no sweetner, and placed our order. The 4 tables around us were being served by other people. They all came after us but got fantastic service. The gentleman serving those tables was polite and attentive, and these tables were long cleared before we had to speak to another server to inquire if our breakfast was coming. Anisha then proceeded to bring us cold food that had very clearly been seating for quite a while. The order was also wrong. We very politely told her it was wrong, cold, and we still had no sweetener for the coffees that were now cold. She responded with attitude, like we were inconveniencing her. She took and heated up my potatoes in the microwave, came back, still no sweetener, no tomatoes, no shake. No fresh coffee. We again politely asked for these. They never came. She comes back 15 minutes later and asks my friend if she still wants the shake. She was done with her cold breakfast and declined. I added that we also no longer needed sweetener or tomatoes. She walks by the table and, as I am eating my potatoes, takes my dish away. Doesn't come back, and we again wait for another 15 minutes for the bill, give up, walk to the front, and ask another server for help to pay the bill. She comes to prepare the bill and says, "Let me see if I can comp the shake ???????? Asks if she somehow offended us in any way. I answered, not offended but disappointed in several ways. I try to explain to her that not only this is our favorite place to have brunch and that we have always had excellent service, but that we both manage businesses and understand things happen... She cuts me off and says, "I own my own business too," to which I answered, but we are the customers. You have made no attempt to correct the situation or apologize for the poor service. She doesn't respond. I ask her for her name, and she loudly and proudly spells it out. I am glad you can spell your name Anisha, because you obviously have no knowledge of customer service and in the process you are ruining the reputation of this great establishment, and all the other amazing workers that work there. Please do everyone a favor and quit, go focus on your own business. You obviously need it. I will call management during the week as I would like a reassurance that the next time I walk into any Cora location, I will receive the same level of service I have always experienced previously, and will not have to see...
Read moreI had a very enjoyable experience at Cora’s in Brampton but the opposite experience @Etobicoke location-sadly. We were really hoping for a great breakfast experience as my wife/I rarely go out for breakfast….
Firstly, we were sat & waited 10 mins before we were even acknowledged or got menus. My wife had to actually get up & ask for someone to come to us & give us menus. It should be duly noted that it was not overly busy at 930am when we arrived. In fact we saw a father/son come in well after us & they ordered/were served before us!
Secondly, when we got our breakfast my wife’s meal had a hair on the tomatoes. She asked to remove/replace the tomatoes which they did so but no apologies or acknowledgment of THEIR error! Unbelievable! She just dropped off the dish with new tomatoes on the table & left! Nothing else! Not a word!
Thirdly, I requested my tomatoes on the side for my order. The server wrote it down. I did not receive said tomatoes upon them serving my dish. When I reminded & asked for them they were brought to the table- again without any apologies or acknowledgment for THEIR error!! Again- unbelievable!!
Fourthly, 2 tables in close proximity to us remained uncleared during our entire stay (as per pictures attached). The servers walked by many times but no one took the time to clear the dirty tables. We sat there looking at dirty tables all throughout our breakfast. Tables should be cleaned/set ASAP when customers depart. We were there for 1 hour & nothing!
Lastly, as we were leaving we noticed one cook in kitchen wearing hair net but her hair was not fully covered at all & outside of her hair net. Hence, why we probably had a hair in my wife’s tomatoes. The breakfast was just OK. My smoked salmon bagel with fresh fruit was not worth $20+? The fruit was more plentiful than the actual salmon on the bagel.
Overall not a great experience hence my 3 Star ⭐️ rating. I really wanted it to be better & hoped it would....
Read moreWe've been going to this location for many years. Normally, it is an overall decent experience from the typical, you know what you're getting from the same ol' food to the service. Today, though... disappointed all around.
I guess more than anything, it was the service or rather their lack of it. Maybe it was because we went for a late breakfast/brunch at 1 PM instead of our usual being there by 9. The place was full, and there was a small lineup. Nothing surprising there nor upsetting.
We get seated. It was 35 minutes before we even got served our beverages, two cappuccinos.
The wait for our food took 40 minutes from ordering to getting on the table.
Now, with all this extra time, you'd think the condiments like ketchup, maple syrup, jam, etc. would be on the table well before then. Nope! We asked for these things as soon as the food arrived. The girl said I'll get your server to bring them to you. That didn't happen.
About 10 minutes later, we saw our server (the one who took our order) and asked her. She said she would get them. A few minutes later, some dude brought them over. So we're nearing 15 minutes from getting the food to getting the condiments. Eggs and pancakes do not stay warm that long.
The portions were noticeably smaller. That's the norm everywhere. No problem. Why do they serve unripe tomatoes though? Such a waste of food. We both got one red slice and one hard green/orange slice. Cora's isn't a place to expect fine things, but surely everyone knows nobody will eat an unripe tomato.
It was busy, but they definitely weren't short staffed. I don't know why it was chaotic with all these delays.
I'm not writing Cora's off, but one more thumbs down experience...
