I had a positive experience of the furniture I purchased via the help of Shamsher Singh at Paramount Furniture on Kennedy. Note this is 4.75 star review but Google doesn’t let you give partial points. I know the review is long but worth a full read.
In April 2024 I was looking for a very specific Incanto leather sofa and an extensible glass dining table and chairs. I had already searched at many stores in Toronto and had a price in mind
On the recommendation of a respected friend I went to Paramount Furniture on Kennedy. My friend said Shamsher would take care of me
Paramount had a very large selection of furniture but not specifically the one I wanted. He had a similar one but didn’t try to force sell me. Shamsher Singh went out of his way to help me get the furniture of my choice. He took me to a several of his stores and then to one of a colleague and competitor - Concept Furnishings.
Concept Furnishings did carry the Italian Incanto line of sofas as well as a beautiful expanding glass table.
Shamsher got work with his colleague and was able to quickly source it for me in the colour I wanted. He quoted me a competitive price and promised take care of the purchase, ordering, and delivery and followon service so I only had one vendor to deal with.
The sofa was to be built in Italy and delivered to Toronto in 3 months a standard length for Italian furniture. This was important to me as one month after the delivery date I was due to leave on an extended 2.5 month holiday.
The sofas were delayed by a month, a day before I was to leave. During the delay, I as a customer expected regular updates. I did get some updates with persistent followup on my part. As they told me upon my return, the delay was due to a trucker strike. If I had got unprompted regular updates with this context, I would have understood. Then it would be perfect 5 star review.
To his credit though, Shamsher stored the furniture safely in his warehouse for 2.5 months at no cost during my trip! Upon my return, Shamsher quickly coordinated successful delivery and installation at my house by Concept Furnishings. He was open to my feedback about the updates.
I later found the delay was due to shipping strike. If they had let me know of this I would have understood.
I am now a proud owner of a beautiful sofa and glass dining table and chairs. My friend and family love the furniture. See attached photos
It was pleasant and surprising to see two competitors working together to meet a customer needs. This is going above and beyond.

Read moreJan 27th 2023, Friday Update: I am changing my previously rated 1 star review to not just 5, but to a MILLION STARS, if I could. My 8 month long issue has been resolved by the KINDEST call, initiated by Ms Ruby/Rubneet W, from the customer service dept at North York location early morning. She was extremely sorry for my past experience, she was super understanding, super thorough, super efficient in resolving my furniture issue. It was so refreshing to finally see someone taking the initiative & to resolve my furniture issue. Ms Ruby sounded determined, and her determination paid off. She stayed in contact with me till she found the missing parts, made sure it's an exact match, then arranged for delivery, kept me updated through out via text and did not leave me hanging. The same night Mr Gurvindar Singh personally was at my door step with the delivery of the missing part, while there was a snow and ice warning in effect with bad road & weather conditions. I was floored!!! From previously being left disappointed, NOW YOU GUYS HAVE TOTALLY WON MY HEART!!!!! All due to such exceptional and determined customer service... Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! And God bless you Ms Ruby, Mr Gurvindar Singh and anyone involved in going out of their way, to win customers over. YOU PEOPLE ARE AWESOME!!!!

March 7th 2022: Had walked into the store, and found the sales team super nice, accomodating me upon my 1st trip. Purchased 4 blue velvet chairs. However, one chair I received came with missing parts with a big whole at the back where decorative ring goes. Called and visited the store a dozen times to kindly arrange for the missing parts, spoke to Ms Aman, Shamsher and many others. My friend and I purchased two beds from this company in December, this company didn’t get anything right from the onset and we’ve been going back and forth. The first day this bed was delivered, the delivery guys couldn’t set up the bed because the head board didn’t fit, they took it back and took forever to bring back the head board. After er the head board was delivered, I couldn’t open the storage, my friend’s own opened halfway. It took them sometime before they sent someone to fix it, when the person came we discovered that a nail was screwed in and that’s why we couldn’t open the storage, the nail was unscrewed but the covering for the storage wouldn’t open because the head board was in the way. They promised to send someone to come fix. They’ve sent about 3-4 people, and they sent this people because I followed up closely by calling frequently to schedule an appointment. nothing has been done, all they do is look at it, take a picture or do a video call and say they will come with an equipment to fix it. They’ve sent about 3 different people during this pandemic and nothing has been done. I was shocked and dumbfounded when the last person came on Wednesday and said the same thing. These people are terrible, when I complained about how long this whole thing is taking, the receptionist told me they’ve sent different people, these different people she mentioned come to my place in this pandemic and do the same thing- look at the bed, call the office and leave. It’s been about 3 months since I ordered this bed, I moved into a new place about 3 months ago and I haven’t been able to unpack my things. Since Wednesday that the last person came to my place, I haven’t heard from them to state the way forward.
