Do you enjoy overpriced, low quality furniture that will arrive hours outside your delivery window several times, not counting missed deliveries?
Do you like being upcharged on advertised "premium" finishes that peel within 2 months?
Are you a fan of delivery drivers damaging your wall TWICE and both times not admitting to it then having to pay out of pocket to patch drywall one of the two times?
How about sending an item out for repairs and having it returned with further damage?
If so, this is the place to get your furniture.
From the day we walked in, a manager tried quite hard to push a clearance sofa on us after we simply asked for the price. That should have been a red flag as to where their priorities lie. I should have walked away right then and there.
A few days prior to initial delivery, we were told one of the finishes we ordered was not available. Needing furniture ASAP, we chose another colour from what they provided. One chest was not delivered on the promised date.
From initial assembly, all the screws were forced with power tools, with screws driven in too deep and chunks of wood sticking out.
Update (09/25/24): They offered a replacement chest which I received after 1 delivery delay. The chest was dropped and damaged while being carried in. They took it back at my request. I have now received another replacement after approximately a week. The top is the wrong colour and the handles are installed upside down. On the bright side, the delivery has significantly improved. I have also received a message from the previous manager that he has opened a new furniture store and to see him for my furniture needs. Odd request considering this whole situation. Still waiting for this to be resolved.
Update (10/05/2024): After days of ignoring messages, they came to pick up the incorrectly built chest. My wife went to the store to confirm the next delivery which was set for today. My wife later called yesterday asking if the delivery could be completed before 10:00, they said it is not possible as they start loading at 10, she asked to reschedule. I get a call today at 08:43 as I am rushing to get ready to be somewhere that their driver showed up. Needless to say I asked them to return another day. I will continue to provide updates as received.
Update (10/09/2024): I received another chest in the correct colour but with handles still installed upside down. This was resolved by the delivery person. There is a chip on this new chest. I am at a stage where I no longer have the energy to deal with another back and forth. After everything, they were unable to deliver a decent product. They are not capable of resolving issues.
Update (10/12/2024): While cleaning this chest, I found that the lower panel is missing it's finish, I see plain wood. I compared this to the other chest I have from them which is supposed to be the exact same product, that panel has a finish. After suggesting a resolution of giving me a refund and taking back the second chest which is $685.00 out of an approximately $5000.00 order, they sent an email including these words: "Unfortunately, this is the best we could do and there is nothing else that can be done at this point. I hope you understand."
Update (10/17/2024): They emailed me to send photos and call them back. I did so and was met with "there is nothing we can do" and that it is my fault I did not spend hours inspecting the product upon delivery. The person I spoke to was hesitant to say much once I started recording the call.
Update (12/16/2024): After more back and forth, final attempt to provide a product was the same chest with rhe unfinished panel replaced with a finished one but more damage throughout the chest. They finally agreed to a refund.
There are other issues I have not even complained about on the other furniture I purchased.
I strongly regret...
Read moreI have never had a worse experience with a company in my life. My ordeal with Selacy Furniture began in March 2023 when I ordered an Ashley Black Velvet Sofa Bed. Initially, I was told the couch would arrive around April 15th, just three weeks after my purchase. However, the timeline quickly became a nightmare. A week after placing the order, I received a call informing me that the couch would now arrive at the end of April because they needed to order it from the manufacturer. Near the end of April, when I called to confirm the delivery date, I was told the couch wouldn’t arrive until mid-May. By then, I was understandably frustrated, but I chose to remain patient. Fast forward to mid-May—still no couch. Selacy finally called me and promised delivery on an upcoming Tuesday. That same Tuesday, they called again to confirm the delivery, so I took action: I disposed of my old couch, paying my building superintendent $50 to help me remove it. Hours later, Selacy called AGAIN to tell me the couch wouldn’t arrive until the end of the month. I cannot overstate the anger and frustration I felt. Not only had I endured weeks of delays, but now I was left without a couch entirely due to their incompetence. The couch eventually arrived at the end of May, over two months after I placed the order. I had paid for assembly, and they set it up in my apartment. While I enjoyed the couch for about a year, my troubles with Selacy Furniture didn’t end there. By the summer of 2024, the left side of the couch became loose, making it uncomfortable to lean on. When I contacted Selacy about the issue, I was told my warranty had expired. Despite my frustration, I was polite and patient. Mino, one of their employees, assured me she would send someone to fix the couch for a fee. This conversation began in September 2024. From September to January 2025, I called Selacy Furniture almost weekly. They repeatedly promised appointments that were never honored. On at least four occasions, Mino told me to stay home because the technician was supposedly coming, but no one ever showed up. Each time, I had to call back, only to be met with more empty promises. In January 2025, after months of being strung along, Mino casually informed me that they couldn’t help me. She admitted the technician they had in mind didn’t know how to fix the couch after all. If Mino had been honest from the start and told me they couldn’t help, I could have found another solution months ago. Instead, as a result of them not coming, the couch situation has worsened and is becoming more and more unusable and the springs are now also broken. To make matters worse, some of their employees were incredibly disrespectful on the phone. Despite their unprofessionalism, I remained polite and patient throughout this entire ordeal. I even refrained from writing a bad review earlier because Mino asked me not to, promising she would resolve the issue. Clearly, that was just another lie. Selacy Furniture has wasted my time, money, and energy. They delivered poor service, made countless false promises, and ultimately left me with a broken couch and no resolution. I cannot recommend this...
Read moreOk, so after being told my sofa would be delivered in two weeks, I was told again it would take an additional week to deliver. This was apparently due to supply issues. I'm not gonna lie, I was really annoyed. I decided to send an email because I didn't hear from them at all since my initial email to confirm my delivery. Good thing I did because they would have not contacted me otherwise. Apparently, this was overlooked. Terrible customer service. I have already waited 2 weeks because of inventory issues. Then to have to wait another week and not being told til the day before my expected delivery. Not very good. Now my living room still has no sofa after two weeks which will now turn into three weeks. Lastly, I was told they would get back to me by Wednesday to confirm if in fact I will receive my sofa next week. Somehow, I have a feeling I wont. Looks like I will end up cancelling after going three weeks without a sofa. Ok update, after talking to the owner an alternative was found. Ok fine. So now an alternative was found for me. Great, the owner and I worked it out. Was told the other model I decided on would be delivered on Wednesday or Thursday. Great. Everything seems good Well......hold on. They ended up cancelling my old order (makes sense) and didn't issue me a new one for the other sofa. Why they didn't give me a new order I have no idea. Pretty frustrating. So now I was told they cancelled the order because of a previous back and forth between myself and the owner. I was going to cancel the order unless they could find me something and misunderstood that to me cancelling completely. The guy who I talked to told me that there was nobody that could help me until Monday. The owner is not in. That's ridiculous. You guys were ok to mistakenly cancel my order but won't help me to fix that. Unbelievable! Ok now fast forward to today which is my delivery day. It was confirmed the day before I was going to get my delivery. So.....I sent a message and email because I wanted to know when they are delivering. My wife is working from home and has to pickup our daughter from school. So I asked so she could be ready for it. That was at 10:29 am its now 1:43 and finally I get and answer. Why make it so stressful on the customers? Do yourself a favour and do not place an order with this place. Bad communication with their own employees and with customers. They tell you one thing and do another. Very bad experience. Get your furniture...
