I went to this location today and I found the CUTEST shorts and shoes. When i went to the cashier they told me the shoes were priced wrong?? The woman said that the shoes were labeled as men and women (which almost all shoes are labeled like that unless they are for toddlers). She then told me I cant buy them and that they have to be priced higher. Ur joking. I have been looking for a pair of shoes like that for ages. If you go thrifting you know how rewarding it feels to finally score such a good item after a long time of not finding anything. Unfortunately the staff had to ruin my experience with their lack of ignorance. I told her that the item was priced wrong and that i should at least be able to buy them after it was THEIR mistake. She got angry for no reason and told me she was gonna report me? Girl what? I'm sick of employees at thrift stores getting defensive over prices like it affects their paycheck. I then moved to self checkout to continue bc i didn't want to deal with that lady anymore and obv some other employee did it for me bc they didn't want me stealing idk and she said the shorts were priced wrong too. Oh my god. Anytime you shop at any value village remember how they got these FOR FREE. They are profiting off of peoples trash and still arguing about prices. They could sell all of their items for A DOLLAR and still make profit. Insane experience. Try your best to avoid this location at all costs. Anyway Gina. (the rude lady), I hope ur reading this and know you make everyones day worse for no reason and I hope you get an ant, spider, cockroach, and bedbug infestation. (i bet she just wanted the shorts...
Read moreDO NOT VISIT THIS VALUE VILLAGE IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT COVID!!!
This particular location gets one star at the time of this posting and visit. (Sept 23, 5:45 PM) for the following reasons.
As I was leaving the store I tried to get some hand sanitizer from the entrance and was PHYSICALLY blocked by a customer representative. Before she could actually touch me I put my hands up and moved away and was told there was sanitizer at the exit as well.
I doubt head office would tell their CSR’s to put their hands on customers but if they did perhaps it should be considered a critical oversight that should be evaluated sooner rather than later. There are gentle reminders on the PA system reminding customers to keep their distance.
As this was happening there was another customer that walked in without a mask. When another customer told the staff about this they brushed him off.
I realize this sounds like another complaint review but please check the front cameras on the date listed above to check the veracity of this review. I wouldn’t waste my time if I didn’t feel like it was a genuine health concern and needs to be fixed. I’m more than happy to edit my review if changes are made.
Value villages for the most part follow the same formula as a retail location. If you are looking for a good deal you’ll most likely find one. Just don’t come to this particular location if you value...
Read moreReally hate that once again because of a really awful worker, I have to rate a decent place 2 stars. I go to this Value Village a lot because it often has a good selection and it's easy to donate here. Twice now at self checkout, I've come face to face with an aggressive cashier named "Prima." Absolutely unpleasant and unprofessional. Both times, she interrupted me in the middle of scanning or adding coupons, took over the kiosk, and started re-scanning my items. I have no idea what prompts her to do this. At the same time, she grabbed at my bag, trying to look inside. If she doesn't have a loss prevention security license, she and the store can be liable for a lawsuit. The first time, she double scanned everything, and I had to start over. The second time, I missed out on using my donation coupon because she claimed it had already gone through when it was the buy 4 books, get 1 deal. When I called her out, she claimed both times she was "just trying to help." Nope, this is just abusive, and a clear case of if she/the store doesn't trust customers to scan and pay for their own purchases, don't have self-checkouts. I'm all for having traditional lanes and not cutting jobs or cashier hours. So, In conclusion, good location in the East end, but if at all possible, avoid Prima. She's the very short asian lady with the black Bob &...
