Withrow Park Farmers' Market - June to October — Local services in Toronto

This farmers market has a good website with up to date info. Beautiful large area for a market, friendly people, good variety of vendors easy to find street parking.

I walked around twice, tempted to get so many things - samosas, momos, kombucha, cheese etc. Picked up my preordered takeaway from Mamalindas, grabbed some pies from Mnamdi, got some organic veggies....

Then....I saw a long line for pastry and bread - that's a good sign. There was no name, but doesn't matter. They looked good!

I was introduced to a xuixo - from Wikipedia - Xuixo (also known as xuxo; Spanish: suso) is a viennoiserie pastry from the city of Girona in Catalonia, Spain. It is a deep-fried, sugar-coated cylindrical pastry filled with crema catalana.

Can't go wrong with that!!?? It was sooo good.

Also got a brioche. Very good. There were so many other treats to try.

Looked it up afterwards. This was motherdough bakery. Only at markets/...

Great place to come for fresh local produce and different types of food, i.e mini Zimbabwean pastry pies, Canadian baked goods made from flour milled in Toronto and empanadas! Getting busier as things start to open up now so recommend you arrive before 11am, it opens at 9am and closes at 1pm. Most stalls accept debit or credit but some only accept cash or e-transfer so be sure to have a bit of cash on you. Everyone is super friendly with volunteers walking around making sure everyone is OK. I even had a chat with one of the board members who was also shopping and checking in to make sure everyone was happy. Lovely way to spend your morning! Oh sometimes there is...

One of the top markets in the city, with a huge variety of items from both farmers, artisans and craft makers! You can get everything from produce to fresh baked goods to plants for your garden to homemade dog treats to local craft beer, and so much more. There's a permanent seed library, they offer fresh coffee and promote zero-waste throughout the market. Several times a season they offer special events like themed swaps (2022 season has had clothing and kid's stuff so far, with kitchen items on 9/17).
