JAPADOG (South Vancouver) — Local services in Vancouver

Japadog is often mentioned as a “must-try” in Vancouver, but my experience was far from impressive. The cart itself looks quaint, and the single staff member working there was attentive and kind throughout — which I truly admire. Still, it left me wondering about how the company treats its employees: no one should be so overworked while trying to handle a long line of customers.

As for the food, the sausage flavor was good, though a bit exaggerated, almost trying too hard to stand out. The real disappointment comes in the value for money: the hotdog is more of a bite than a meal, and the fries are such a tiny portion that even a fast-food chain would serve more generously.

The location only made things worse. The cart sits next to a parking lot where the bushes reeked of urine, which completely ruined the atmosphere.

If this is considered one of Vancouver’s “culinary icons,” then the city — or its food critics — have much to reconsider. It feels more like Japadog was given a medal just for showing up in a category with little to no competition, rather than truly earning its reputation.

It never mentioned it's is mobile food. I have an order worth $14 just about 900m . But I can't find this food van. The pin map address me showing far away. And I have to running around wasting my gas in winter snow to looking for that's food store. I have to ask a guy who working at the wearhouse. And he show me the food location. And when I reach to the food mobile van. She closed the order and I ask did you just close the order? She admitted yes and said she couldn't making the order. Total bullshittt. If they mention on doordash app I am not gonna waste my gas. Or she closed the order before I accept....

I thought that it was cool Japadog is here but man their service is horrendous. They were pretty straight with me but to other customers it was pretty bad to watch. Their side eye, rolling eyes at others that didn’t know what they wanted or just the disgust on their face when people asked a question. Businesses like this don’t deserve customers. Won’t be back. who ever owns this business should check on...
