Nell's kitchen is a hidden gem. It's as close to a literal analogy as possible as it is tucked by the window of a fresh fish store. It was the first location where fish burgers and sandwiches are not dry. Albeit, 16 dollars for a salmon burger, the price, from my experience as an avid food consumer, is justified. The freshness of the fish as well as how recently the food was prepped is reflected not only in the flavours, but the texture as well. Nell was polite, concise, and quick with her orders. She was manning the kitchen by herself but went through the short line of customers with ease. A must-visit location from anyone living in Greater Vancouver. I stopped by as I was in need of a lunch and was passing by, but it is a trek I am willing to make from Coquitlam.

One word. Unassuming. Excellent. Local. Ok, a few one word comments. 😉. When we found out about this place, I admit we were a teensy bit skeptical, but wanted to try it. Looks like a typical take out sandwich shop (which it is), but Nell's main function of a fish market is it's killer feature. We had a super delish salmon salad, and an excellent salmon burger sandwich. We saw a constant stream of regulars pop in and out, and we chatted with a couple of them. Consistent comments.of excellence, freshness and consistently nummy foods. It doesn't look fancy, but don't judge a book by it's cover, or you'll miss what the locals know. FOMO.

This is my favourite go to place for fresh and delicious food in West Vancouver! Food: 5/5 - their lunch menu is excellent especially if you’re a seafood lover. They use local and sustainable fresh ingredients. Our favourites are the salmon salad and tuna tatami bowl. Prices are reasonable. They also have fresh seafood for sale. Service: 5/5 - fantastic service. We didn’t have to wait long for our food. Unfortunately they are only open for lunch on the weekdays. Atmosphere: 5/5 - there’s a cosy comfy vibe here. They have been around for ages. Enjoy a tasty lunch here and support local! You’ll love it!
