I am so grateful that they made it through the pandemic! My favorite sweet pie here (when they have it) is their raspberry rhubarb pie, and my husband loves the apple. The meat pies are all amazing but the Guinness is definitely the best. Service itself can be a little shoddy here, last time I went they didn't have an 86 list easily accessible for the person that helped me out so they had to stop taking our order after just about each item to see if it was still in stock, which was tedious. Our dessert slices of pie also came out (heated) nine minutes before we received our heated savory pies, so we ended up eating half our dessert out of hunger before we could have a proper lunch, which in itself seemed like a long wait as well considering there were only two other tables at the time, both of which already had their food. The dining room is small but very cute and features some freezers that contain take away pies, fruit, etc. We've always been really lucky to find parking on the street out front, or been at friends close enough to walk but there is a parking area out back if I'm not mistaken. Overall, we will be back for sure in the future.

We went to this café to order pie and coffee because we had heard good things about it, but the experience was truly awful. Instead of enjoying a relaxing morning, they ruined our holiday. Unfortunately, local businesses in Vancouver often suffer from poor customer service, and this café was no exception. The staff behind the counter were rude and inattentive, with no signs of proper management oversight. The girl at the register spoke rudely, with an unclear accent and rushed tone, making it impossible for us to order breakfast. In the end, we only managed to get a black coffee and a muffin. We paid for a 16-ounce coffee, but they gave us a 12-ounce one. When we complained, instead of fixing the issue properly, they just poured the same coffee into a bigger cup. On top of that, the way they handed the cups to us was careless and disrespectful. The prices were high, the service was terrible, and the whole experience felt like a complete waste of time and money. I am extremely disappointed with the poor management of this café and will never set foot there again. Avoid this place if you value your time and money!

One of our favorite breakfast spots in West Vancouver, BC, is Savard Island Pie Company. This charming bakery consistently impresses with its freshly baked products, as everything is prepared and baked on-site, ensuring top quality and flavor. Our go-to choice is their Raspberry and Apple Pie, which is always perfectly balanced in sweetness and texture. Alongside the pie, we enjoyed chive and cheese scones, a cranberry and pecan muffin, and a freshly brewed house coffee. Every bite was delightful, and the coffee paired beautifully with the baked goods. The location adds to the experience—West Vancouver’s breathtaking coastal scenery makes for the perfect backdrop to a relaxing morning meal. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Savard Island Pie Company is a must-stop for a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended!

I went in on the morning of June 2nd '24, to get a coffee and tea with my wife as a reprive from the pet hospital where our dog is being treated for Cancer. I tapped my Visa to pay and the transaction failed. The cashier stepped away away and the PoS machine cycled and reprompted me to tap again. I did, and the machine appeared to process the charge (only ~$11). Upon returning, the cashier informed me that the transaction did not go through. Finding this strange, I pulled up my pending VISA transactions and it was listed there - clear as day. Upon presenting this to them, she asked another cashier for assistance who then brought over a women who appeared to be the shift leader. She informed me that the transaction did not process and that I would have to pay again. When presented with the VISA transaction she informed me it was wrong and refused service. I then asked 'is this a joke?' And her responsed was "No. You are a joke." Insulting me and escalating the situation. I asked for that statement in writing, which she did not provide. Astounded, I asked for my money back and she also refused on the grounds that 'no payment was made.' She then belittingling suggested she would give us the "product" for free in exchange for leaving. We refused and and left after being told to "get out of here".

I disputed the charge immediately with VISA to have the charge reversed for no delivery of good/service.

Ironically, the staff here are usually super friendly and to be honest, the food and drink is fantastic. I used to work for the establishment once upon a time, but it appears since that they have devolved to insulting their customers rather than...

I have such good memories of this place! But was seriously disappointed with breakfast here. I ordered the Savary Scramble and a Chia Latte. Firstly, my change was forgotten which is understandable, it's busy. But the the entire establishment seemed to be run by teenagers so the food literally looks like a fourteen year old and her friends tried to make you breakfast in bed.

The scramble eggs were the only thing that was acceptable, there were two thin pieces of rain rye about two inches long, two pieces of white triangle cheese that was probably pulled out of a knock of kraft singles packet 30 seconds before being put on the plate, two thin slices of tomatoes, half a sloppily sliced Avocado placed face down, and here's the kicker... the jam was in a plastic container and the butter... the butter was smeared on a cupcake paper holder that was folded in half. and stuck next to the Jam. The whole arrangement of the foods had a grade 7 last minute science fair board vibe going on about it. I was saddened that I paid a whooping $18.50 for the chai latte and this which had a $4.00 value, max. Probably. I actually warned people walking in about the food, and the other customers seemed equally underwhelmed.

Jeez, Savary. Just because you're the cool kids on the pie block doesn't mean you can under-deliver on food! I'm sure everyone means well, but please. If you want a pie you're in the right place, but if your looking for anything more, based on price and quality, you're better of going to...

It's sad what's happening to this fine bakery which used to be a West Van institution. We frequented them years ago while the owner was baking her pies in the space across the street, Bean Around the World. We followed her to the new location and enjoyed her soups, the wonderful bread and pies. And the friendly staff.

Now, there is one staff member in particular, a young woman, who doesn't seem to care. No smile, and has an attitude. It's an unpleasant start to sitting down to enjoy a coffee and a sandwich.

The soup plates have become smaller. A sandwich at $12 is expensive for such a place. I wouldn't mind paying $12 if it arrives hot. The toasted sandwich I ordered the other day was cold.

The coffee cups are ridiculously small. Worst of all, there are no napkins. You have to wait for a napkin to be given to you and it's the smallest. Hard to eat a sandwich with mayonnaise and a small napkin. There is cheapness about the place when a restaurant is so tight on a small item like a napkin.

Not to mention how tight the seats are close to each other. There are too many other fine places now in West Vancouver so I am not going back here ever to eat on the premises. The bakery is good for take out. Their bread is excellent.

Really too bad. I...
