I can see that you will continue to just defend what happened instead of taking some ownership of the situation. If you are happy with the way your staff dealt with these situations that day, then so be it. I just wanted to address what we witnessed because as parents, we would definitely want to know if our children were in these situations at their daycare.
We are happy to come in and discuss further and also go over the footage with you.
——— No, the cord was not tucked into a locked box. We saw that they were dangling freely. One of your staff literally said after the child had it around his neck, “Oh, these are supposed to be in this box” as she went over and tucked the cords back into the box. This also happened underneath the big slide area where cameras weren’t present.
As for the yelling, this wasn’t just a “No”. She grabbed the child and yelled “HEY! NO BITING! NO GOOD!” multiple times. Her yelling startled all of us, not just the other children. We are parents of multiple children, we are used to yelling, so for it to startle us, it wasn’t just a simple stern No.
Original review:
We visited the Little Legends Playhouse for some drop in play time the other day. The place is new and very spacious. The sitting area/bathrooms are very clean. The actual play area didn’t feel as clean (some sticky dirty toys.)
A few of the toddlers from their daycare (around 11-13 months old) were also using the play space, with what appeared to be 2 staff members watching them. The staff were often just chatting with each other, one of them on their phone rather than properly engaging with the children. At one point, one of the daycare children hurt another child and instead of just taking the child aside and calmly attending to the situation, the one staff member just grabbed and yelled at her which scared her and caused her to start scream crying. Again, this child was barely 1 years old. All the other kids in the space were startled by the yelling and just froze and watched. This staff then noticed/realized we were watching and changed her tone to try and calm the child down.
At another point, another child was playing with some loose cords coming out of a wall lamp and got it wrapped around his neck. The staff only noticed when the child started crying and attended to him. We did not know what had happened until we heard the staff talking about it (very casually..as if a child didn’t almost just strangle himself??) Children that young need to be constantly watched by the care takers. We as parents leave our children at daycare and trust that they are being supervised and cared for in a safe environment. This place did not feel safe for little ones and if my child was attending this daycare, I would definitely want to know these details.
The daycare classroom had different teachers in there than the staff in the play space so this does not reflect those teachers. We only witnessed what went on in the...
Read moreHonestly shocking. Plug sockets in the play area didn’t have child safe covers over all of them (first photo) and lots of the little toys has small parts falling off, which is a choking hazard. I handed a few in to the front desk staff and they didn’t seem bothered or offer an apology. The toys in question were those fruit ones (second photo) you can separate and at least three different sets had the Velcro part detached and loose. All in all, $14 for two hours in a small unsafe play area (third photo) is a rip off. Will not be returning and...
