Major disappointment. The Greek chicken skewers were so salty they were inedible. Chucked them in the garbage. The shaved ham is also overly salted and I’m probably going to trash that too. I am hoping that the pineapple pork chops and perogies are ok. We’ll see. Would not buy from them again. UPDATE: Got a prompt reply from the company and received a refund which I appreciate. However, I still have concerns. 1 pkg had only 3 skewers and the second 4. There was no label indicating the date these were packaged, the ingredients or the weight. The only product with complete info on the label were the perogies. The ham label just says “shaved ham” and the pineapple porkchop label identifies the product and says to slow cook it for a specified time. My recent unannounced visit to The Meat Company Butcher Shop surpassed all expectations. Despite walking in without prior notice, I was warmly received and promptly assisted with exceptional care. It was my first time and first experience with this place after trying couple of butcher shops around the city. I should mention that their ribeye steak was a masterpiece, expertly cut with just the right amount of fat marbling. The freshness of the meat was evident, and I was delighted to find that their thick cuts were perfect for my preferred wet aging and the reverse searing method, that I often use. [Update] My recent order of ribeye steaks has surpassed all expectations. The quality exceeds fine restaurants. I occasionally buy supermarket or other butcher shop steaks, brine them, and mechanically tenderise, and they have been satisfactory. But nothing beats The Meat Shop for taste and tenderness: remove from fridge, salt, pepper, and season (ground rosemary), rest for 30 minutes and straight to the heat. BTW, home delivery is friendly and efficient. I will definitely be back, and will tell all my friends.
