I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant and feel the need to share it. I walked in with a takeaway coffee — my mistake, and I fully understand the restaurant’s policy. A male staff member approached me and reminded me about it. Im ok with that. But just a few minutes later, a young female staff member came over and began raising her voice at me in front of everyone. She didn’t ask or explain — she scolded me loudly and publicly, making me feel completely embarrassed and disrespected. To be clear: I had already been reminded once, respectfully. There was absolutely no need for a second confrontation — especially one that was rude and aggressive. This kind of behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. A calm, respectful approach was all that was needed — instead, I was humiliated over something that had already been addressed. Also, to be honest, the food here is just average — nothing special. With that kind of service and forgettable food, I honestly don’t see any reason to come back or recommend this place to anyone. Good service is not just about enforcing rules — it’s about how you treat people. And I was treated with zero respect.

One of the city’s best hole in the wall restaurants! Serving traditional Chinese dishes like chow mein, congee, brisket noodles and more! I’ve been coming here since a wee child and the food has always been top notch. Highly recommend the seafood noodles, crispy chow mein, and century egg congee! I never leave this place hungry. If you’re lucky and get there early, remember to order an in-house made Chinese donut. Fantastic dipper for your soups!

One of the best hole in the wall restaurants! I’ve been going here for 30+ years and the taste never disappoints. I might have to say their hot sauce is one of the best in the city, pairs well with everything on the menu. Their beef brisket is tasty and so tender. The Shanghai fried rice is a staple! Don’t let the small place and outdated decor fool you, they have some of the best soups in the city!

This is the first review I write in my life about a restaurant, and only because this has been the worst experience I've had at a restaurant. I lived in China for several years and was craving authentic Chinese food. We ordered three dishes, all recommended by the waiter, and they were okay, nothing special. I wanted to use the restroom before leaving and accidentally entered the private restroom instead of the public one. When I came out, the waiter yelled at me in the middle of the dining area aggressively, stating that I didn't read that it was a private area. His reaction caught me off guard, and I apologized without giving much importance to the issue, then went to pay my bill. At the cashier, I apologized again, but this guy kept talking about me with all the kitchen staff, visibly upset. Just as I paid my bill, the waiter told me that I couldn't leave until they checked the dirty and unpleasant restroom I entered. I asked if he was accusing me of stealing, and he smirked, said he didn't know me, accused me of trespassing, and insisted they needed to check before I could leave. Meanwhile, another waitress was inspecting the private area I entered and its disgusting contents. I was in disbelief and started yelling at them to check me; I had no problem with being inspected. When the waitress signaled that everything was fine, the waiter told me I could leave and repeated it. What a dirty and unpleasant experience at...

I gave this place a try because it was the closest restaurant that was open at the time. Gave it a try because the reviews seemed not too bad...was it disappointing. The greeting the promptly and friendly. Portion sizes not bad. Flavourful wise...not impressed. As one review says, " broth was nice and flavourful". We're you kidding me?! Ordered consume soup and it was one of the worst hints I have ever tasted. I had a spoonful of it and could have any more of it. I mentioned it to the little lady and was still charged full price! If you are in a pinch as I was, then it will do but MUCH better...
