Winnipeg Mere Hotel a little boutique gem. If you want low key that small but not big franchise feel, while still having some up to date stuff this is the hotel for you. My wife and I had the romance package which included 6 small chocolates from #mordenschocolate omg the salted caramel heaven awesome to go with some bubbly. I would recommend the river side view top floors, yes it is just the “Red River” but something at night is peaceful to just look at. If you like sit outside they have a small balcony on the 2nd floor awesome to just enjoy the night air, my wife and I were lucky to watch a wedding rehearsal occur while smelling the delicious food next door at #cibo restaurant or instead walk over to #jamesavepumphouse for a beer and some casual cookings both delicious. You are also very close walking distance to places like #nonsuch #theforks etc. I would have given 5 stars but we had a small hiccup with the late check out in the morning but the front staff and management eventually made it right. Thank you and hope to stay here again, check it out and don’t forget to enjoy the hotels colourful lights.

They say “ Mere boutique, pure and simple” and they literally mean it. Hotel is as simple as it sounds. No onsite restaurant, lounge and Gym. Hefty price for parking that too first comes first serve. Use of gym (wherever that is located) for a fee. Lobby gives a vibe of upscale condominium building entrance. Our Chek in was smooth by Brian. Room was best part of our stay. Good amenities, good size and definitely great view. $6 for 1L bottle of water n the room. Make sure you bring your own. Not a single hook to hanger cloths in bathroom. There are enough places they can put few hooks. For boutique hotel to give room key card in yellow coin envelope is laughable. It’s worth trying once. Parking situation, no restaurant and gym might deter many people from staying here.

I recently stayed at the Mere and it was one of the worst hotel staff experiences I have had. (This will be a little long winded) Note: I have stayed at this hotel 3 times before and loved it. My sister and I planned a “staycation” in Winnipeg as I live out of town. Upon arrival at the hotel there wasn’t a single parking space to be found in a 2 block radius. The hotels tiny parking lot was full, which is normally fine as you can park close on the street. There were cars parked on the side walk of the hotel itself and on the grass. It was cold (wind chill in the -20C range.not the hotels fault) so I waited for a spot to open before checking in. When we got inside we were greeted with a less than enthusiastic host. I asked if it was ok to park out front and the reply we got was “no. You will get towed” and I was like ok all good, I’ll check in and then move. The conversation continued to me asking where parking was available as the back lot was full as well as the side streets. My short reply from the reception was “you have to go up there street to park”. Ok, where up the street? I had driven for a solid 15 minutes before checking in looking and there is nothing close. “There (pointing out the window), you can park there!” And the tone had started to change. Meanwhile there is a security guard and he was ever so helpful to say he was very sorry that there was an event happening in the area and didn’t want to see us get towed. He asked reception for a map and pointed out a parkade up the street. I asked about people parking on the sidewalk and property, as well as the parking in the back lot. The reception chimed in and said “all the people just started to park here and we couldn’t stop them”. Which I can understand happens in Winnipeg, especially down town during an event. But being that the mere is such a small hotel, they have licence plates on file (and a security patrolling) they could call a tow truck. I am then told in a less than helpful way “i send many guests up the street to park and they were happy”. I replied that I have no problem paying for parking and walking, but this is Winnipeg, in winter, and I wasn’t completely comfortable walking in the dark 10 mins away, to which is now 10:15 at night in a area that has zero lighting. The security guard said “I have to do a patrol check and I can radio if I see a spot open. Sometimes during events vehicles come and go”. I said “wow, thank you. I would really appreciate that”. To then the reception comments “well if there is a spot open in the parking lot you HAVE to pay $20”. I replied that I understand there is a price for parking in the back as I have paid it before and happy to do so BUT you just told me there are people parked there without paying as well as on the sidewalk AND grass area and you “couldn’t stop them”. The security radioed back in that there was a spot available but would take a little wiggling to get in and would stay and hold it. My sister took our bags up to the room and I moved my vehicle. The security guard apologized again for the inconvenience to where i replied “it’s not really anyone’s fault but the hotel not enforcing their parking tonight. I don’t mind paying for parking and walking for boutique hotels (I drive a 1/2 ton truck and parking for it usually isn’t available and that’s ok). I again thanked the security for going above and beyond and being so kind. When I get back inside the reception noted again that there would be a $20 charge for parking and asked for my licence plate. That this point I wasn’t going to argue as it was late and for all I know I could have been towed during the night. ||But if you have made it this far…the hotel itself is beautiful. Very clean, chic, and the rooms are very spacious. I very much enjoy staying here in the summer months for the view of the river and being central to really anywhere to go in Winnipeg. They have little stocked “bars” in the rooms as well with super reasonably priced drinks and snacks. The bedding is very luxurious as well. In the mornings the cleaning staff is so friendly and I really like this hotel. ||My one note is in the past stays the beds have been almost cloud like and comfortable, but this room we had it seemed the beds were more worn in and firm and not quite what they usually are. Which does happen but does not affect the quality of the room in general. ||I hope to stay again with a better experience. It is a beautiful hotel at a really affordable price...

Newer hotel. Very clean , small gym ,not much around the place, few bars and hidden convenience store. But the park next it had used shoot up needles everywhere. don't walk in the grass at all. Path is not safe at anytime. Crackhead peeing on the windows of the place, i would not Recommend ground floor rooms, especially if a female is with you or you are a female alone at this place. Park lot for about 20 cars .Your right on the red river sun set and rise is very nice view. Has a nice firm King size bed I give the bed 9.3 out of 10. Bathroom 9.6 out of 10. Double Water feature and good water pressure no smell to the water. Very good for this town, I've stayed in almost every hotel and budget hotel they have in down town Winnipeg. Tv was a 32 inch should be upgraded. Bar fridge broken and same in many other rooms in this place, new carpets, snacks and beer and wine pay for services available in each room little on the high on prices for each thing, beef jerky 12 bucks and cheap wine 45 a bottle, so Over all I am giving it 2.3 out 5 could be a 4.4 or even 4.7 out of 5 for this place for a budget hotels stay. But what ruins this place is the stupid lights outside the place. It's like the steinfeld episode with the Kenny Rogers red Sign. Lights blarring through each window 360 degrees around the whoke place. no matter what you do at night lights coming in. It is tacky low class makes the whole neighborhood look bad. Plus they Probably hate the building with its strobe lighting. Lighting up multi rainbow colors going off 24/7 leaking into the bedroom window. Where you can barely sleep because of the reflections and the lights leaking in through the blackout curtains. And the cleaning staff making so much noise smashing stuff around in eachroom you think the place is caving in on top of you. Those 2 things ruin this place and only has one slow elevator for it's 3 floors stay, some staff are nice others had a bad attitude. Stayed for a week won't go back here other then for the...

Hotel good - Car Vandalism in hotel parking lot-Apathetic staff and Management- Not recommended

We had stayed at this hotel previously over the years and our stay had been good. The last time on our anniversary from September 29 to 30 th 2021 our stay was fine but what was very disappointing was that we were woken up by hotel staff who told us our vehicle had been vandalized. They told us we should look at the vehicle and then come to front desk. We were obviously really upset and asked for management to call us and to date have not heard back. Our parking charge was reversed for parking in the Mere parking lot that we parked In. When I asked them to provide the time it happened for our police report from their video footage , the staff explained that it would take them hours to get it and they could not get to it as they were the only staff. I asked if they could get someone else to do it snd the front staff said this was not possible. I still have not heard back on the review of the video footage. Or had a phone call back from the manager. Overall and clearly the hotel management does not care that this happened to our vehicle while staying at their hotel and parked in their lot. I asked if this has happened and the staff indicated that they have told management that something needs to be done with this parking lot., so clearly this has happened before and to date the hotel does not appear to be correcting this situation for it’s patrons. We will not be staying again because clearly the hotel does not care about their patrons as they have not even called back or provided us the Information that we requested. Beware don’t park here and if something happens to your vehicle , the hotel does not care, they will not provide you requested information, management will not call you back and don’t care that you now have to spend your day dealing with police reports and Autopac. As a result of the management apathy we will not return and will not recommend this...
