Definitely was NOT impressed with our 3rd/last grooming.

Came in July 8, receptionist wasn’t the friendliest/most welcoming/most helpful when asked about a summer trim for my sheltie. Didn’t ask what cologne scent I’d wanted for him either.

Went to pick him up, she asked if she could charge the card on file without first providing receipt or cost breakdown whatsoever. After I asked she told me it’s for a Medium. My pup is a 1.5yo sheltie. His last groom he was at 1yo, a Small. I was told it’s because “he was a puppy then”. I mean what kind of justification is that?! Was then told the manager, Amy, would give me a call next day, Jul 9. (Got a voicemail on Jul 11 at 4pm. Returned the call next day at 1pm and was told she’s unavailable so left a message with the receptionist for her to call me back. No call back until this moment. Decided not going to play a tag. I suppose once you’ve paid, you’re not in their mind anymore.)

Paid, she came out with my pup. Noticed his paws weren’t trimmed and asked to get them trimmed. Grabbed him to put him in the car, loose hair everywhere on me and my t-shirt. Also noticed the nails were cut but still long and not shaped/ground nicely like previous. They were sharp and scratching me all over. So had to redo them at home. Hair underneath was missed during trim. Also found a knotted hair behind the ear, so had to fix that too. The only good things about 3rd groom is that they gave him the summer cut I’d asked for but details like I mentioned above were all missed. Found out the groomers have been different each time, and the owners no longer groom (initially asked for one of them for 1st visit).

I honestly hate to be leaving this review… but my trust was broken by using this establishment for my pups grooming. I was referred to the neon dragon by my vet because my dog is reactive and I know does not do well being handled. The neon dragon is on the completely opposite side of the city from where I live. But I invested the time and money. I was told from the start that my pup was not the most difficult they have worked with and that he was doing ok. The last appt I had I had to cancel because they had a case of kennel cough. I did not want to risk taking my pup so I rescheduled. At the new appt there was someone new at the front. She advised me that groomer for my pup would be in ‘soon’. I was advised by this facility to book the first appt of the day. But then the groomer is not there. To note the weather was fine so travel issues should not have held up this appt. When I picked up my pup I was told it did not go well. That was it. I emailed the other day to book an appt for next week and received a response that my pup had bit the staff and that he was just to difficult to groom. The point being here is that this groomer NEVER contacted me from the last appt till now about what happened at the last session. I would not have known if I didn’t reach out. Why would this groomer not communicate with me? Their response was they are to busy! I have lost trust in them and previously I had recommended them to others. If I could give zero stars I would. I shaved my dog because I got some new clippers and I wanted to try them out . I then called this place to get my dog in so they can even it out & get the patches I missed. When I called and asked the cost. The girl who picked up said it would be around $100. I explained that my dog was shaved and that her face and legs would need to be done. The girl quoted me 100$ give or take. Based on what the girl told me price wise I decided to book at this groomer. The morning of drop off I asked if they could give my dogs face the poodle cut. I did not want her feet touched. When I went to pick my dog and the total was for a full groom I almost had a heart attack. $150 plus tax and tip. I wouldn’t have booked her if I knew this would have been my cost. I felt blindsided and I’m disgusted that the owner did not honor the price that was told to me on the phone. She disputed with me if I had called other groomers. I let her know I only called them. She just said I can give you 15% off. Well let’s be honest here. My dog was brushed out. The groomer did not even out what was done she was brushed out. Hey underside was not touched.
