I tried this place once a few years ago so I don't remember what I ordered. It was average for price (more than Grizzys or anywhere in Selkirk but lower than most of Winnipeg or Oakbank (witch is also terrible)). The food though... I have never had Chinese food this bad. Everything tasted like it was pre packaged frozen microwave garbage, with tons of salt to hide the disgusting taste. I have seriously had TV dinners that were much better. The only reason I ate most of it is because I didn't want to waste $75, but I'm pretty sure I was forced to throw something out because it was just inedible. I think it was pork that I had to throw out because it was like trying to eat a burnt piece of wood. I don't usually write reviews but I was reading one for a restaurant that I was thinking of visiting and thought to myself "what's the worst food I ever remember having?" When I seen that this horrible place had 3 stars I knew I had to say something. Only the Arbys down the street can compete for awful eating experience but they closed down. Yan Yan please join them. PS to Margo Techylady That odd flavor was probably...
Read moreWe tried Yan Yan tonight for the first time. We ordered the meal for 4 and It was excellent. The sauce for all of the meats - including the sweet and sour sauce - was more of a sauce and less of a candied syrup like a lot of other places. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the thicker candied syrup sometimes too. But this was different and nice. I also enjoyed that the vegetables in with the meats seemed fresh and had a nice crunch to them. I can't do mushy vegetables so these were delicious. I think the only thing we didn't like were the little rib pieces. The taste was nice. This really isn't anything against Yan Yan - the mushy boney rib pieces anywhere have never been our favourite in general. We'll just go with something else next time. Also, the chicken balls were HUMONGOUS and perfectly cooked. Probably the best chicken balls I've ever had. I totally get the appeal. My husband said it was pretty busy when he went to pick up our food and I can see why. They were also 10 minutes earlier than expected in having our food ready. Just a really good meal all around and we have so many...

returned and the food was even better. We ordered 5 dishes and could not stop eating it. So good. Great customer service.
Ordered the family pack for 6. It was huge. All the dishes came filled to the top. The beef and veggies had about a pound of beef, the chicken fried rice was huge and not too salty, the chicken with broccoli was another example of huge and delicious, the chicken rice noodles was really amazing but needed sugar and a little oyster sauce, the chicken balls were huge and packed with chicken, the free pork sweet and sour was amazing (over $65 you get this free), and last but not least the breaded shrimp was almost 15 shrimp tempuras. We all got two huge white rices and 6 spring rolls. Everything was monster size the six of us felt that was so much value and quality. The...
