We had a very serious concern when we went to Staples today. Our elderly Mom went in Friday evening for a new SIM card. She left with a new iPhone for which she paid $400 on her Visa and financed almost $700, a $40 Otterbox, her Bell plan cancelled, a $229 insurance plan on a brand new phone, plan switched to Verizon. Prior to us entering today, the salesman who 'sold' her this deal called and text her from his personal cell multiple times. The Manager we spoke with just before 5pm last night was great and assured us things would be made right. The Manager today was initially dismissive and curt. Thankfully, we were served by 'Lakshay' today. After over 90 minutes, my Mom was credited for the purchases, her plan was put back (at a reduced rate) and she was provided a gift card for Staples for the trouble. I won't name the Manager from today as once she realized how serious we were about this series of events, she did change her demeanour. I also will mention that I was not pleasant to her either after I felt we were being treated poorly. It was incredibly maddening that a senior would be taken advantage of the way she was. I'm not comfortable that the salesman felt it appropriate to call and text her multiple times from his personal cell phone after he manipulated her into this 'deal'. While we are incredibly grateful for Lakshay, let this be a warning for people for aging parents. Staples allows this behaviour (we were told it's standard practice for the sales people to use their personal phones to contact their customers). Elder abuse and corruption for the 'sale'....
Read moreVisited this locatikn awhile ago as i had to scan a bunch of documents and 7 of how to use the machine. Worker at the time that right beside it barely helped and seemed uninterested to assist. After scanning, I got up to 100 and was told I needed a usb stick ( I had more than 100 pages) to scan them all into 1 document. So, I was told which aisle to go to get one (was wrong aisle) asked a worker on the floor where are the usb sticks as it was cutting close to closing time (8:45) and i had to get these papers scanned (over 300 pages-one sided). Lady assisted me with getting the stick, then after purchasing, I went back to the scanner area, and then the person was willing to help me scan it on the machine because of it being close to close. After, the lady that came over was like, "You need to scan all that. You don't have time (being 10 minutes to close) we are closing in 10 minutes."
So I was upsold a pointless usb stick in order to scan my 300 pages for nothing because I was told there is not going to be enough time (with 10 minutes to close). I had left the store very disappointed with the poor customer service and lack of assistance and attitude from this location.
After I went home, I used an app that I downloaded to scan my 300 pages by hand with my phone all into one document. I should have just did that from the beginning instead of wasting time and gas to get to Staples in the first place.
Good luck to those who need help using those scanner machines if you don't really know how to...
Read moreKuldeep Saini was very helpful and had excellent customer service. My mom and I were getting a laptop for me to have at school and he was eager to help me find a laptop that was a good fit for me. However my mom did not have her flexiti card with her. She had the account number and login on the website. Kuldeep Saini said he could put the account number in manually and we would get a text to confirm it is our account. This is when Sheri the manger then took over and said we could not use the account number and we needed the barcode. She needs to work on her customer service skills because she was very rude and disrespectful. She was also mean to her staff saying how they need to work on their security knowledge since they are not suppose to put the card in manually. We had ID, proof of our login, and the account number but since we did not have the barcode we were told by Sheri to call flexiti. Which we then called and they said they would send a new card within 15 days. We then drive home and search for this barcode for a half hour and got it. Drove all the way back to staples to finally get this laptop. We've never had to deal with such frustration from a manager at staples. Thank you to all of the staff who were trying to help us out and we are very disappointed with how the manger...
