The Rosario Islands is a small archipelago made up of 27 tiny islands located south of the Bay of Cartagena, about one hour away by boat. This is where you will find the see-your-feet crystal clear waters, coral and snorkelling that you associate with Caribbean paradise. Isla Baru, and its most famous beach, Playa Blanca is where you will find white sand beaches, palm trees and all the other picturesque scenes you will photograph to make your friends at home jealous. Baru is also now accessible by land. Tierra Bomba is the closest of the islands. It is very big and only accessible via boat. Tierra Bomba has beaches on the "Cartagena -side" of the island, and also on the more remote, Bocachica side. Tierra Bomba is located in the Bay of Cartagena. The advantage is that it is closer, and you don't have to brave the oftentimes rough seas of the open water. The downside is the water is usually not the same transparent gorgeous blue of Rosario Islands and...

The nature is very nice and we had a really nice snorkling trip with Victor booked through Rosario EcoHotel. We walked around the island which is completely safe and would highly recommend doing this if you want to see other perspective, not jus tourist places and nice beaches. We ate in local restaurants, one of the best food we ate in Colombia!

One sad thing are local stray dogs who don’t have access to food and water so share some with them if you have a possibility! They are quite locked on island and due to poor living conditions it is reasonable that locals can’t take...

This piece of land is a perfect tropical paradise for those looking for a moment of tranquility. Spending a few nights in this place can result in a unique and unrepeatable experience. The island is composed of several private beaches but there is a public one and it is beautiful as long as you go from 6am to 10-11am. The locals are friendly and very helpful, and always seek to offer the best to tourists without the greed that you can find in Cartagena some times. As one local said: "Here, the tourist is the most special individual, and he is treated as if our food depended on it, which is true". There are many plans to do, including a lagoon that shines at night. There are several small islands but all are private. On the island there is a small town and there is a shop there, the prices are not as high as one would expect, on the contrary, they...
