I've been visiting the Grand Casino at the Escazú Sheraton for years, and it truly stands out as the best casino I've ever been to. The food is consistently amazing, and the waitresses are incredibly nice and attentive. I primarily play blackjack, and even on my worst days, the managers go out of their way to cheer me up. This place was absolutely terrible. The first night I was (granted I am a 19 year old from the US) allowed in without showing my valid passport (I was willing to show it). The next night I came with 5 other American friends from college and was turned away because they wouldn't accept valid united state IDS (driver license). It is absolutely ridiculous that they claim there policy is checking passports for foreigners when I was allowed in without anything at all. Absolutely ridiculous and wouldn't recommend anyone from the US (who doesn't want to bring the only thing-passport- that makes them/allows them to go back to the US). Fire that...
