Maison d'accueil Saint Georges- Grand Séminaire — Local services in Le Puy-en-Velay

I arrived in Grand Séminaire the 3rd of July 2025 and my friend one day earlier. We were getting ready to walk Via Podiensis wow! Even though this place is huge, it is really quiet and cosy. The experience is really significative because you are at the heart of Le Puy, just right next to the cathedral where we were going to depart from the following day. We even get to meet a young priest who was going to volunteer at the service the following day.

This place has old rooms but everything is comfortable and some of the toilets and showers have been recently renovated. When you are inside, you can feel the history that the building stores and that's a wonderful experience in itself.

The sisters running the place are very kind. During dinner we had a great variety of dishes coming all the time and everything was lovely. Breakfast is not as impressive but we had enough. this accommodation is in a great hilltop location, but just be aware you will have a long uphill slog with your luggage if you come into the train station. The first night we were giving bed where you could feel all the springs, but we created our own bed the second night that was a normal hostile mattress and that was better. Be aware if you wash clothes, they do not have dryer so if it is not a nice day, your clothes will not dry. breakfast Is quite minimal, but you can take as much bread as you want. The check-in process was quite disorganized, and they had trouble identifying us with our rooms, even though we had made reservations and reconfirmed them months in advance. Dit is een historisch gebouw dat gelegen is in het oude centrum en beschikt over zeer veel plaats en kamers. De inrichting van de kamers is reeds gedateerd maar ze zijn groot, en netjes (beddengoed kun je huren) beschikken over centrale verwarming en een fatsoenlijk bed. WIFI is beschikbaar op de kamers. WC''s (normale) , wasplaatsen en douches bevinden zich in lokalen die zoals de kamers uitgeven op een centrale gang en zijn unisex. Het onthaal gebeurt zeer vriendelijk en duidelijk. Je kunt er ook gezamenlijk ontbijten en het avondmaal gebruiken in een grote refter. De maaltijden zijn sober.. Je kunt gemakkelijk de stad bezoeken en 's avonds kunt je terug binnen via deuren met een elektronisch slot met een toegangscode die je krijgt bij je inschrijving.
