Is 10am Too Early for Wine? Not in Saint-Émilion
Our visit to Château Pavie was one of the most anticipated moments of our Bordeaux wine journey, and a perfect way to wrap it up. We had booked the 10:00 AM tour, and yes—wine tasting in the morning might sound early, but in Saint-Émilion, it felt just right.
The walk toward the reception area was already memorable: vineyards stretching out beautifully, orange trees adding color, and two giant olive trees forming a natural archway at the entrance. Art pieces dotted the landscape, giving the entire place a feel of quiet luxury.
Our guide welcomed us warmly and shared the rich history of Château Pavie, followed by a tour of the wine cellars. The highlight, of course, was the tasting. We tried just two wines, but they completely blew me away: • 2017 Les Aromes de Pavie • 2012 Château Pavie
Beyond the exceptional wines, I was truly inspired by the story of the estate’s owner—something about it struck a personal chord, especially as someone new to the wine world. Everything about the visit felt smooth and thoughtfully curated, with a guide who made us feel both welcome and informed.
