Is 10am Too Early for Wine? Not in Saint-Émilion

Our visit to Château Pavie was one of the most anticipated moments of our Bordeaux wine journey, and a perfect way to wrap it up. We had booked the 10:00 AM tour, and yes—wine tasting in the morning might sound early, but in Saint-Émilion, it felt just right.

The walk toward the reception area was already memorable: vineyards stretching out beautifully, orange trees adding color, and two giant olive trees forming a natural archway at the entrance. Art pieces dotted the landscape, giving the entire place a feel of quiet luxury.

Our guide welcomed us warmly and shared the rich history of Château Pavie, followed by a tour of the wine cellars. The highlight, of course, was the tasting. We tried just two wines, but they completely blew me away: • 2017 Les Aromes de Pavie • 2012 Château Pavie

Beyond the exceptional wines, I was truly inspired by the story of the estate’s owner—something about it struck a personal chord, especially as someone new to the wine world. Everything about the visit felt smooth and thoughtfully curated, with a guide who made us feel both welcome and informed.

And just when we thought the experience had peaked, we headed next door for lunch at La Table de Pavie, making this morning one...

Even though 60 euros per person is not a small amount but it is less than other types of private tours. You would feel a valuable experience worth more than 60 euros. The tour and tasting, which lasted about an hour and a half, is the perfect textbook for studying wine. Monsieur Didier Adam, who guided us in particular, is a great wine teacher. His knowledge extends beyond wine to Cognac and Armagnac. The pleasant conversation broadened our understanding on not only wine but also various spirits. When Monsieur Didier Adam poured wine for tasting, we could feel the aroma from a distance. One of the tasting wines was the 2012 vintage, which made Château Pavie Grand Cru Classé A. If you want to experience the real Grand Cru Classé, do not hesitate to visit...

Beautiful estate with outstanding wines. Owned by Gérard and Chantal Perse, Château Pavie belongs to the most famous estates in Bordeaux. The year 2012 was a huge step for Pavie, as the estate was graduated to the very little circle of Premier Grand Cru Classé A in St-Emillion. Make an appointment for a visit; it's definitely worth visiting this...

My first visit at Saint Emilion. One of the most modern and the most beautiful Château in Bordeaux on the right side of the river. Very interesting tour. And you can't find any mistakes in this place, where Michel Rolland works like a wine consultant. The reachest and the most concentrated red wine (Class A Grand Cru Classé) in St. Emilion.
