Château La Gaffelière — Attraction in Libourne

We came for a group wine tour and tasting at the Chateau La Gaffeliere on 6th August. Overall, our experience was a positive one, largely due to the interesting and engaging tour provided by our guide, Thomas. He went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable, which we very much appreciate. The wines we very tasty as well!

However, we are also sad to say that our experience was soured by the very unpleasant attitude of one of the other staff members at the chateau, Andrea. She was quite shockingly rude in response to our polite request to try a particular wine, not only to us as paying customers, but also to her own colleague. Sadly, this upset us and tarnished our otherwise pleasant experience, and we’d therefore be reluctant to recommend it to others.

*EDIT: The response to this review provider by the owner is not only factually incorrect, but it also completely fails to address the issue at hand. How much/which wine we were allowed to taste is not the point. What we received, in response to a simple question, was a very unpleasant attitude that completely soured our experience. It is not a question of 'satisfying guests' or not - it's a question of downright, unwarranted rudeness. Very disappointing to receive this type of customer service at an establishment such as yours. We work with a local hospitality business and will no longer be recommending this...

Exceptional visit! The visit was in English and was organized by Noëlla, absolutely stunning character of a person who was very clear and very friendly. The visit lasted almost a hour and half with the tasting of three good wines. The explanation from the family history to the end process was seamless and interesting. The organizer did not hesitate to respond to any question despite me having 0 knowledge on wines. Highly recommended wine tour if you visit...

We had a terrific experience at Chateau La Gaffeliere a couple of months ago. Our host Thomas was accommodative, knowledgeable, and passionate. The vineyard has been in the same family for over three hundred years. We even got to meet Leo Roquefort after the tour.  If your destination is Bordeaux, Chateau La Gaffeliere in Saint Emillion will be a tremendous addition to your itinerary.🍇
