Saint Jean Délices — Local services in Lyon

In your inevitable search for traditional lyonnais sweets, biscuits or dry sausage (saucisson) to bring back home from the Vieux Lyon district (Saint Jean), don't walk by this gem! The shop is small but all products are in fact made on home-made (really!) recipes by specialists in workshops across Lyon and sold here. The place seems even more packed because it often is full of visitors who take their time to taste the popular (and truly good in this shop) pralines, the really unique sweets constantly invented by the shop-owner (the crazy-good nougat with pralines is my favorite). You'll also find the popular products from Voisin (coussins and quenelle de Lyon). I've never seen anybody leaving the shop without at least one little transparent bag in the hands. It's not the cheapest place in Saint Jean but the quality is in my opinion far superior and I send all friends visiting me in Lyon to this place. RUDE. DO NOT SUPPORT. THERE ARE SO MANY BETTER SHOPS TO SUPPORT IN LYON. Visited here recently. The two women were friendly and helpful. Lots of great help and information about the nuts and chocolates. We approached the register and a woman also tried to put her basket ahead of ours but was after us. She made remarks in French thinking we did not understand. The young gentleman behind the register smiled and laughed. I stared at them. One of the women realized that we understood their rude joke or comment. If we had not paid for everything and wanted to give as a gift to family I would have returned. So sad that people are so unkind and because they think they can’t be understood or because we are visiting it is ok. Don’t forget our tourism and money is the reason that this store exists. I loved the place, it is my dream to have a place similar to this.

I bought some typical chocolates from Lyon.

The mix package has one chocolate from different styles. I just liked the blue/green one. The rest were good but for my palate I would prefer something different, I am more like the blue/green one kind.

And the original ones: almond with the red chocolate…..uuffff delicious 😋
