Philippe Tayac Pâtisserie — Local services in Nice

Looks like the guy behind the counter was having a rough day and tried taking it out on us. We took a seat and he started going bonkers about the fact there was a customer before us who had purchased stuff and would be entitled for that seat (never heard that before and in case you want to enforce it please put a note somewhere).Seating is a problem for real here.

We requested for a bag for our towel and would have paid for that though were told that it’s only for takeaway items and he was rude in while asking the why for the bag.

There was a hair strand in the salmon bagel ( the bagel was changed after the fact though hygiene is something that is not taken seriously over here) and as well a tiny one in the lemon tart.

Coffee took forever to come out ( and the first time it came out it was like an absolutely diluted americano which was then replaced and took some more time ) and was ok, the second time. Could definitely have been much better.

Salmon bagel ( minus the hair) was good and I enjoyed it. The lemon tart ( had a small hair strand as well) and cookie were good as well.

Don’t think I would recommend the place and if you make it here please do make sure that you are not eating bagels or tarts or cookies with hair...

Salmon sandwich had long piece of hair in it we brought it to the attention of the staff they brought us a fake new one because as we were eating it we discovered more hair half way through. Photos attached is two long hair which we threw on the floor the other hairs are the ones we found half way through eating. Also we ordered two Americanos each was 4.50 but extremely light in color tasted like water we had to ask them to remake it and had to wait another 10 minutes for it to come out by then the marangue on my lemon tart was melted so that wasn’t enjoyable. Also on original receipt they forgot to to charge us for our two Americanos so we were waiting 15 minutes originally before realizing it wasn’t on the receipts, the employee apologized for his mistake and rung us up again. So in all took 20 minutes from the time our pastries came out to recieve our coffee. Also employee refused to give us a to go bag because we ordered for here even though we spent almost 40 euros we were...

We were a group of three people and found a table with only two chairs. We simply pulled over an extra chair to accommodate the third person. However, a staff member approached us and told us that, according to their policy, only two people were allowed to sit at that table.

When I politely asked what we should do instead, I was told that one of us should wait outside, and once someone finished eating, the other could come in and eat afterward. We found this quite unreasonable, so we decided to leave.

Right after we got up, a couple with a stroller sat at the same table. Shortly after, the staff told them they couldn’t stay either because they are again 3. I asked, “So what are they supposed to do leave the baby outside and come in alone?”

The staff member then raised their voice and defensively said that they don’t make the rules. That may be true, but if no one speaks up about how unreasonable these policies are or how they’re enforced, then nothing will...
