The restaurant is in a good location and food is good. I spent 2 weeks in France and to be honest this is the only restaurant that I kind of have to give advise to the management and give 3 stars to.
The food is great, internally the restaurant is well decoder to the theme, however the team looks so stressed and overworked. The waiters are like robots rushing between every table due to under staff of course. Before even sitting down, I saw a table of four which just left the table and within 3 seconds the table was cleaned, cutlery and glass was set in order to accommodate the next group. At first I was impressed, however when my better half ordered the food (we ordered a plate of pasta and a pizza), the pasta came within 3 mins while the pizza came 5 mins later (ethics tells you you serve your food together however lets not go into that subject as we do not get bothered by it on a holiday especially when we were starving). Furthermore the pizza is half sliced i.e. you get half of a pizza, its huge, tasty and filling. However this was clearly cut in half to serve another table with the same pizza (I hope due to allergy reasons), which again makes you feel like things are rushed to accommodate more and more people.
Another point which was a lovely hygienic thing was that one of the waiters got a half filled bottle of tap water, the bar man decided rather to clean the bottle from the previous customers hand, he refilled it and sent it again to another table 👌
To the lady behind the cash counter, have the decency to look at the customer when he pays and get of your phone. (Fyi had to go pay myself since no waiter bothered to get the machine)
It was a record set that we ordered food, ate and ready to go within 20 mins.
If your looking to eat good food and fast, then this is your restaurant. To me it...
Read moreMy fiancee ordered the house burger.. and jeeez that was disappointment. We are not picky at all and dont complain easy but gotta say that was the worst burger we ever had. We order it medium and it was welldone++++, the steak was dry as sahara and hard as brick and there were hardly any favours in that dish, i mean the meat felt like it had been made with minced meat that has lowest fat % that is possible and like we all know, burger meat should have plenty of fat especially if its grilled. If the meat would have more fat it wouldnt be such a dry peace of meat, what and shame. I mean it was over 22e burger so I definitely would expect better quality.. the next day my fiancee ordered the grilled salmon and the same thing.. dry as a sahara. I mean salmon has so much fat in it so how is it possible to grill it so dry? It felt like the chef was like "i think its done but just to ensure its not pink at all lets put it back to grill for 10min just in case?"
How ever, my all dishes were really really good! I ordered steak and it was perfecly cooked, medium like I asked it! The second time I ordered magred canard au miel and it was so juicy and tasty😍 we had also foie grass for a start and we love it also! And the onion soup was good also! After all I would recommend to go there to eat traditional french dish that I had but would not order burger or the salmon dish, sorry :/ we saw also other table which left the burger pretty much touched, dunn know was it also as disaster that we had.
However the staff were really nice even though there were...
Read moreFound this place on Google Maps as we were craving mussels and it had pretty good reviews overall (and the moules frites seemed well priced). The terrace was almost completely full when our group of three arrived around 8pm on a Friday, but we were seated quickly at a corner table.
Ordered the assiette nicoise (appetizer platter), moules frites and seafood tagliatelle. Dishes came extremely quickly, like in 10-15 min from when we ordered. The assiette nicoise inludes an onion tart, chickpea cake, eggplant fritters, cod fish, stuffed vegetable and a small nicoise salad. Some interesting dishes that were new to us, but overall it was just okay and kind of bland. The overall portion size of the moules frites was huge, but the actual mussels themselves were tiny and not very fresh. The broth was decent flavour-wise. But the dish in general was lackluster so we quickly grew tired of eating it and struggled to finish it all (and not because of the quantity). We enjoyed the sauce in the seafood tagliatelle but again unimpressed by the actual seafood in the dish.
Service was friendly and efficient, as one would expect in a tourist area. Prices are okay, the moules frites are on the cheaper side but I would rather pay a little extra for better mussels. I would recommend going somewhere less touristy and crowded for better...
