I'm so so happy about the cake I ordered from Cafe Lizard and their customer service was above and beyond. So, I live in the U.S and my husband lives in Berlin. I decided to surprise him with a cake for his birthday. I found Cafe Lezard on a trip advisor forum and I contacted them via email. It was a Friday evening in Germany but they still managed to reply back quickly. I told them the birthday was on Monday and I needed the cake to be delivered on time. To my surprise, they said they could bake the cake I wanted in my budget (cake and delivery under 100 euro) and deliver it on Sunday. I had to ask twice as majority of businesses are closed on Sundays in Germany. I paid them with Paypal, around 86 euro ($91) for cake and delivery. They not only baked an amazing cake, they delivered it to my husband with a personal touch. The partner who delivered the cake, congratulated my husband, shook his hand and was very gracious that my husband felt like he knew him all his life. He took a picture of the cake before delivery, remained in contact with me via whatsapp the whole time. I give Cafe Lezard Berlin 10 starts if that was available. I highly recommend anyone who's looking for that amazing treat with a great customer service to contact them online or visit them in store in Berlin. “Berlins Beste Torten”, so lautet das Motto bei Lézard. Es ist Versprechen, Anspruch und Auszeichnung gleichermaßen und was soll ich sagen? Man wird diesem Leitsatz absolut gerecht und als durchaus passionierter Hobbybäcker, der selbst schon die eine oder andere Torte zubereitete, kann ich das durchaus einordnen! Aber eins nach dem anderen. Wir hatten für unsere Hochzeit im Mai für ca. 60 Gäste mit ca. 2,5 Monaten Vorlauf noch die Bestellung für die Torte hier aufgeben können. Nach eigener Aussage zwar schon zeitlich knapp, aber machbar. :-) Nach einem ersten kurzen Austausch per Mail und Telefon, wobei schon mal die ersten Grundideen gemeinsam ausgelotet wurden, nahmen wir den Termin zur Tortenberatung vor Ort wahr. Hier wurden wir sehr kompetent bedient und ein Probestück schmeckte besser als das nächste und wir merkten sofort, dass hier echte Könner und Künstler am Werk sind die nur frische und beste Zutaten verarbeiten. Ein ursprünglich nicht vorab besprochenenes Probestück wurde sogar noch ohne Weiteres frisch zubereitet und “nachgereicht”, ein wahnsinnig aufmerksamer Service! Als Ergebnis der Beratung wurde ein detailliertes Konzept für die Hochzeitstorte mit uns ausgearbeitet, Extrawünsche wurden dabei konstruktiv bewertet und soweit sinnvoll umsetzbar auch voll berücksichtigt. Auch zusätzliches Equipment wie eine hübsche Tortenplatte und Kühlakkus können gegen ein Pfand geliehen werden. Unsere Hochzeit fand eine gute Autostunde entfernt in Brandenburg statt und die Torte wurde uns gegen einen moderaten Aufpreis direkt geliefert. Dabei hat sich das Lézard-Team direkt mit unserem Caterer vor Ort abgestimmt, das hat auch super geklappt. Und die Torte selbst war dann einfach FANTASTISCH! Bestellt hatten wir eine half naked cake mit vier unterschiedlichen Füllungen. Der Biskuit ist der fluffigste und samtigste, den ich je gegessen habe und die Patissiercremes sind wunderbar locker aufgeschlagen und gleichzeitig herrlich im Geschmack (wir hatten Himbeere, Vanille, Waldbeere und Joghurt), dabei nicht zu süß. Die Torte war darüber hinaus detailverliebt mit frischen Beeren, Rosmarin und weißen Blüten dekoriert. Aber nicht nur wir, sondern auch alle unsere Gäste waren restlos begeistert und ich habe bereits bei im Freundeskreis anstehenden Hochzeitsvorbereitungen meine klare Empfehlung für Lézard ausgesprochen. Ich hoffe, dass ich in nicht all zu ferner Zukunft wieder einen Anlass finde, hier nochmal eine Torte zu bestellen. Auch wenn es wohl keine Hochzeitstorte sein wird. ;-) Vielen Dank liebes...

I live in the US and I had hard time finding a good cake shop that could deliver birthday cake to my boyfriend who is currently in Berlin. I found very good reviews on Cafe Lezard so reached out to them via email. These guys are super responsive, I emailed them probably around midnight their time but I immediately got a reply. They suggested I go with the chocolate mousse cake, they told me the price and gave their paypal account. It was very easy to make the payment and the cake was delivered on time on my boyfriend's birthday. I thought it was a bit pricey but when I heard how delicious the cake was, it was totally worth it :) And the cake looked so pretty as well. ...
