this restaurant was recommended to us by a local. it is located in a residential area which is not very thirsty. I believe. we entered a little after 5:00 which is their opening time and where the only customers for a while we went in specifically for the crispy pork knuckle which we were recommended to try there. however, I wouldn't say this pork knuckle was the best. neither was it the worst. it was somewhere in the middle, but it was good. I am not really sure how they achieve the crispiness in general but in this restaurant particularly you can tell that after baking or whatever with the knuckle they deep fried it to get the outside to be crispy or vice versa, they might have fried it and then baked it. which really made the whole knuckle be a little bit oily and heavy for my taste. but nevertheless the meat was nice. The decor of the place is nice and also weird at times but it is very authentic and you can see a lot of old pictures and objects which...
Read moreHad a reallllllllly annoying experience here last year :) We were coming for the pork, but that was not available, so we ordered other food instead. I still can remember the steak with sauerkraut was as idle as the sea, okay, maybe this is a typical German taste that I can’t blame you guys. But when we asked drinking water from the middle-aged female waitress she said that they didn’t have water 😄, so even the staffs there didn’t need to drink water and drink the rains instead? Okay, so we ordered white wine instead, but your sweet waitress forgot it, so in the end we’re too thirsty to taste ur delicious salty food. Then we payed the bill, and that waitress said that “u didn’t know that usually in German people pay 10% tip?”
Annoying food, annoying service, and terrible waitress, how dare you ask for the tip ? Here is the corresponding review for u to...
Read moreGREAT FOOD, but not cheap at all. It's my first time visiting Germany, and I don't speak German at all, but I don't think that's an excuse for upcharging tourists. Our bill (for 5) came to €163 plus tip (which the waitress made sure was known was not included in the bill). We ordered three schnitzel, one spaetzle, one special plate, an appetizer, and a beer for each of us (five total). It really was delicious, but when the menu says €15.90 for a dish and the bill is €24.90 for that same dish (€9 for "fresh mushrooms" that the waitress pushed, rather than what I ordered at that price point in the first place), that is not right. The waitress was also very pushy when it came to upselling items. The food did not disappoint, but beware if you...
