Stayed here 22/12-28/12. Checking in was strange. There were two female staff members at the desk who seemed to be passing the time of day chatting with a couple for what seemed like ages looking at something on a computer screen leaving us standing there feeling awkward! Not once did they look at us obviously waiting to check in with cases at our feet. It just needed one of them to say we will be with you in a minute but it didn’t happened. Eventually we were attended to and It wasn’t a nice friendly smile that one would usually expect as you check in, it wasn’t rude either just a little off and unwelcoming! We were given room 537 a huge corner junior suite. This room in my opinion is absolutely not worth the extra cost! Yes it has a lovely big bath and a separate super rain shower. There were also 2 WC’s one with a glass sliding door that doesn’t quite close and slides open on its own if you’re not stopping it leaving you exposed to the world! (Very odd, who wants to see someone sitting on a toilet?) The other a proper private one with a fully shutting door I was relieved to find. I found the lay out of the room was just mostly wasted space and quiet annoying really. The large double bed was very comfortable I must admit but only one side of it has a table so everything you needed in the night had to be placed on the floor if you were the unfortunate one sleeping on that side of the bed! The tea making tray was hidden away in a pokey little hole under the safe so to make tea you had to get down to the floor to plug in the kettle. There’s so much space in the room just have a table in the corner with a plug at waist height! Not a single USB point or desk if you happened to want to work, just a annoying round table with 2 totally unsuitable low seats round it. All the seating in the room was actually really uncomfortable as was the seating in the unattractive foyer and bar area. All floor space in our room was wooden and had a very cold feeling about it and noisy too. I’m sure really annoying for guests on the floor under you! On entering the room I instantly knew I’d made a mistake booking it and had wasted a lot of money. So please believe me the photos you see are very deceptive it’s not as great as it all looks! The massive flat screen TV in the lounge part of the room is actually a very small one behind what you think is a super huge screen!! |The best thing about this hotel was the outstanding breakfast and the very charming and attentive staff. The evening bar staff were also faultless always so friendly, helpful and professional especially Lisa!|We had a very nice safe stay here but I so wished I hadn’t booked the Suite! Would I recommend this hotel to others? Sorry to say no I wouldn’t, it’s ok but not at all a comfortable hotel for...

The hotel looks fantastic from the online pictures. It is a nice hotel, however this looks like a place that Batman would stay - like a place designed straight out of Gotham City. It's very dark. Dark brown carpet, dark brown walls, dark brown everything. Bad lighting. Almost all the mirrors in the rooms are smoked. There is no good lighting in the bathroom and it is hard to see yourself. This is important for wives and their makeup or just checking to see if your hair is actually dry. There doesn't appear to be good insulation between the walls floors or ceiling. You can hear a lot of noise going on around you. There was a giant black area that appears to be a TV on the wall in your room but only half of it lights up as a TV. There appears to be a small sectional in the sitting area of the room but it is super uncomfortable. There is no way to sit back on it without feeling like you're going to fall backwards. To say the beds are hard is an understatement. It's more like sleeping on a concrete floor with a mattress pad. 4 nights and almost zero sleep. Get this... they just put in new mattresses in all rooms because their customers complained about the prior being too hard! The buyer should be fired. One of the pillows is more like a couch cushion than a pillow. Listen, you use a hotel room to sleep. That should be first priority. Moving on... If you're looking for breakfast in the morning, you can definitely find it for less money. If you eat there, plan on spending at least $20 per person. It is a good spread, but it's just not worth that much. Everyone knows it's hard to find a good parking place in Berlin. You can find a place on the street and it's worth the walk but they do have underground parking but it will set you back over $20 per night. How much is a parking ticket anyway? Lol

That's the bad. And now the good. The rooms are spacious - unbelievably so - and have everything you need and are indeed pretty. Huge closets so you can stay a while! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Again, the breakfast has a very good spread and we ate there and enjoyed it. On the 7th floor, you'll find a true workout area with free weights and machines. This is rare! You'll also find a lap pool, a true steam room, and a great sauna. The area also appears to be a safe family friendly area. A change of mattresses, comfy furniture and better bathroom lighting for the mirrors and it's a 5 star.

---- Update ----

Without asking and I'm fairly certain had nothing to do with this review, 2 gentlemen from the hotel came up with 2 mattress pads trying to make our experience better. This says volumes for the management and staff . Know that they truly want everyone to have a good experience and they take pride in their work. Thank you to...

We had booked an apartment for 3 persons. As we arrived to the apartment, we left our luggage, some in the living room and some in the rooms. Two of us went to have a dinner and one of us stayed in the room. Not even an hour after leaving the hotel room, our friend called us and said that some bugs crawl on the couch. Immediately she went to the reception to report it. She got a new room and moved there. But a couple of moments later, during the dinner I saw the same bug on the T-shirt of my friend who was with me. The thing is that both of us sat on the same couch for 5 min before going out to dinner. Immediately we went back to the hotel and asked the receptionist to find a new hotel for us (the same category, in the similar. As we payed in advance they gave us the money back, but the new hotel was not the same category. He called the hotel manager and told us that the general manager of the Sana Hotel would call us the day after to apologize and to discuss whether the Hotel would pay for our accommodation. He apologized for the inconvenience and told me that he went to the room and that he saw by himself the bugs on the sofa. He told me also that he called a specialized service to clean the room. During the conversion he mentioned that guest usually bring the bugs in their luggage, but I told him that we were only an hour in the room and we have not event opened all the luggage, because we went out to have the dinner. Only on of us was there and her luggage was in her room. He told me that he would sent me the report via e-mail to inform me about the situation with the bugs and he offered a voucher to visit the Sana Hotel sometimes again. Nothing of these happened, neither we got the report nor the voucher. This just shows how much the Sana hotel cares about their guests. We will for sure not visit the hotel again and we wanted also other guest to know about...

Hey Travel Enthusiasts! Guess what? I recently embarked on a spontaneous weekend escape to Berlin, and the star of my adventure was none other than the fabulous SANA Berlin Hotel. Why, you ask? Well, my friend insisted on having a pool, and after some savvy on scrolling, voila! SANA Berlin Hotel caught my eye with its unbeatable rates and alluring promises. Now, before you jump on the bandwagon, let me spill the beans on what to consider for your own journey. 1. No complimentary water bottles in the room. Stay hydrated, fellow travelers! 2. Forget about a snuggly bathrobe; you'll have to make a little trip to the reception for that pre-swim glam. The pool is on the petite side – cozy, but not for the Olympic dreamers among us. 3. Breakfast was ok 4. Steam room enthusiasts, beware – it took a vacation during my stay. 5. The breakfast table's flower had seen better days. Now, let's shine a light on the silver linings: Prime location! Just a hop, skip, and jump away from U3 (3–5 minutes on foot) and a leisurely 10-minute stroll to U2. The staff deserves a standing ovation – super friendly and ridiculously helpful. Room cleanliness levels: spotless! Gym enthusiasts, rejoice! The fitness space is vast and inviting. Would I revisit SANA Berlin Hotel? Well, maybe. Go ahead, give it a shot, and may your journey be filled with unforgettable moments! Wishing you travel magic!!
