✈️ Lufthansa, we need to talk. ✈️
I've been blatantly cheated by Lufthansa (maybe you reading this have, too!) and Lufthansa refuses to get back to me, dodging and avoiding - despite endless outreach and my following their own protocols. Arrived ROM ➡️ MUC on Aug  2  2024, ready for my ATH connection—only to watch LH1756 vanish at 15:30 without a word. The replacement? Stand‑by, 5‑hour limbo, then bumped again at 19:30. By midnight the chatbot finally confessed: “You’ll reach Athens… two  days late.” My 48‑hour Olympic‑interview trip evaporated. Meanwhile: • ➡️ No one knew where my bag was (spoiler: it took 2  days, extra belt hunts, & broken items). • ➡️ Hundreds in the MUC service line; agents begging us to “just use the app.” • ➡️ Copy‑pasted links for refunds, zero answers for AMEX’s required “reason for cancellation.” AIG travel insurance says they won't cover my abandonment in Berlin since Lufthansa generated a faulty manifest that shows me booked for a flight which I had canceled. • ➡️ Rebooked ROME → MUC → ROME → ATH—yes, a full circle—leaving me < 24 h in Athens. 🤯 • ➡️ Only the First‑Class desk could untangle things, cancel the nonsense & note my eligibility for a full refund after double‑cancellation + 48‑h delay. Yet 6 months later I’m still chasing that refund! Lufthansa’s system insists I “no‑showed” or actually flew a flight I literally had successfully canceled which was the only way to retrieve my bag from their non-responsive chaos. Passport stamps, hotel receipts, rail tickets Berlin‑bound, and the desk agent’s notes all support this truth. @Lufthansa—your frontline staff in Munich were good under pressure, but the digital + back‑office will not respond and you have, in effect, cheated me of a trip and stolen my money. Please: 1️⃣ Acknowledge the double‑cancellation & confirm the refund you already approved.
2️⃣ Clarify why LH1756 was axed (state‑dept Beirut evac? We still don’t know).
3️⃣ Explain how you're able to publish a false manifest based on a nonexistent ticket? Travel community: ever rescued a trip from airline bureaucracy? Drop your survival tips & tag Lufthansa so this gets seen. 🧳💬 #LufthansaListens #TravelFail #MakeItRight #LufthansaLies #LufthansaScams

Come on Lufthansa, you had a profit of 1.6 billion euros last year. Yet your service is beyond pathetic. Incredibly poor check in experience. System constantly says “down for 30 minutes”, “booking not found”, or when found , I select seats only to come back to find it hasn’t saved my choice. I upgraded to business class, paid and was assigned seats, boarding pass issued only for it to revert back to previous class the day of the flight. Awful app, awful system. Then there’s the issue of its ridiculous premium economy seats. This is how much space is available when the selfish bugger in the front row pushes back the seat to the max. Impossible to even move or use the middle seat. Less than half a water bottle. I felt so incredibly claustrophobic and trapped that I ended up spending most of the 12 hour flight out of my seat. The service for premium economy is almost identical to the economy bar a small bag with largely useless items in. Don’t waste your money on premium economy. I certainly won’t be purchasing a Lufthansa flight again.

For a trans-Atlantic flight, where we paid "Extra" to select our seats, this is a small, and Old, aircraft! Now, the flight crew was pleasant. But we sat on a row with 2 seats, which had a 2' space between the seats and window, and there was no room. We also did not have ANY space above our seats for luggage as the aircraft's firstaid kit and the extra pillows and blankets were stored above us. There were only 2 USB-A charging ports available. Luckily I had an old USB-A to USB-C charging cable in my carry-on. Not sure if @Lufthansa will be an airline I choose to fly again to Europe. I get it: "put as many passengers on as possible!" And, "we need more revenue!" But comfort is LAST Place if you choose #Lufthansa.

Never fly with this airline.

I was originally supposed to fly to Munich from Raleigh Durham, last night September 17th. My first leg of the flight got delayed multiple times, to the point where I was going to miss my connection flight to Munich.

I called Lufthansa. They told me straight up "we can't help you since the first leg of the flight is operated by United."

So I called United. After 2 hours they got me on another flight. Lufthansa flying out of Charlotte tonight, the 18th. So I said ok. got the confirmation in the Lufthansa app, picked my seat and was good to go. I picked seat 33G, an aisle seat in the middle of the plane, which I paid extra for. I tried to check in and the app and website kept saying "check in failed at this time. Try again". It never worked. So I waited until this morning.

This morning I checked in. Lufthansa auto moved my seat to the very last row, middle seat, no recline. For a 9 hour flight.

I called Lufthansa again. They told me they couldn't help me. The only other seat left was a middle seat further up the plane. I had to pay another $58 for this seat. The guy on the phone told me he couldn't help me or get me another seat or reimbuime for paying multiple times for worse seats than I originally had.

He told me only customer service can help me. I asked to be transferred to them. He said he can't. Only they can call me. After the trip.

I tried calling again to get a refund. They redirect you to a link to a chat bot. I messaged the chat 5 times. No reply. Nothing.

Never...

Hands down, the worst airline experience I've ever had. On May 4th, we returned from our holiday and checked in for our Lufthansa flight at Luqa airport. At the check in, we were told our bag was 2 kilos over, so we were informed there would be overage charge. The front desk agent did not know and instead sent us to the "customer service area", which was just a desk on the other side of the airport check in and was only staffed by one woman (who, coincidentally, decided to take her coffee break and left ourselves and those in line with us waiting for nearly 20 minutes). The woman at the desk returned and said she had to make a call to Lufthansa; several minutes went by, and she came back and said our new baggage total would be $480CAD?! We asked her what the rationale was, where the overage policy was documented, etc. Her response: she was just doing what she was told. We ended up paying the charge (just so we could take our personal belongings home). I tried following up withb Lufthansa customer service while at the airport and when we returned home and we received no response after followign up for several weeks. Only when I tried to dispute the charge did Lufthansa follow up; only this time, with the bank, and they continued to refuse to provide me with any information.

We will never fly...
