SunExpress flight Antalya → Brussels.
We had SunPriority passes and waited in the corresponding line. The counter in front of us was empty, but the hostess did not call us and instead let other people pass before us. When she finally agreed to take us, only because we stepped forward, she stared at us suspiciously and doubted our Priority passes until she checked our passports and saw that we had indeed paid for this service. All of this was done with a dry and condescending attitude.
Then came the baggage check-in. We were entitled to two 20 kg checked bags each. The first bag we wanted to check was a 10 kg backpack, but she categorically refused, saying “this is not the shape of a suitcase.” When we asked for further explanation, she very rudely sent us to counter 551. Because of the noise, I asked her politely to repeat the number, and she rolled her eyes before repeating it. For our second bag, a large suitcase without wheels weighing around 12 kg, she sighed again and said: “this is not a suitcase, not conventional, it will not be accepted,” this time raising her voice. At that point, I asked for her name in order to report her behavior. She refused to give it and instead snapped “Why?!” in a very unprofessional way. I explained that it was because we did not appreciate the way she was treating us despite our politeness and patience. At that moment she suddenly changed her attitude, but in a very hypocritical way, and even tried to make me look like someone who didn’t understand English — while I actually speak it fluently. After insisting and showing her that the bags on the next counter had the exact same shape (just with wheels) and were perfectly accepted, she finally agreed to take our second bag — which she should have done in the first place without us having to justify ourselves.
On board, things were no better. We had paid for XL leg seats, but they were stiff, could not recline, and were extremely uncomfortable for a 4-hour flight. The plane was also dirty, with tray tables still stained from the previous flight (see photos). And upon arrival, our so-called Priority luggage did not even come out first.
We travel regularly and this was by far one of our worst experiences. Between the contempt at the counter, the unjustified baggage refusals, the discomfort, and the dirtiness on board, SunExpress does not even...
Read moreI am writing this review to express my utter dissatisfaction with my recent experience flying with SunExpress. I had high expectations considering the reputation of the airline, but unfortunately, I was let down.
To start, the booking process was convoluted and frustrating. The website was difficult to navigate and I encountered several technical issues, which caused unnecessary stress and wasted my time.
The flight itself was equally, if not more, disappointing. The aircraft seemed poorly maintained, and the cleanliness left much to be desired. It was evident that the cleaning standards were far from satisfactory.
The in-flight service was another cause for concern. The flight attendants were indifferent and unresponsive, making me feel more like a burden than a valued passenger. My requests were either ignored or met with a curt response, and the general lack of communication from the crew was unsettling.
Moreover, the food offered was subpar. The meals were not only overpriced but also lacked flavor and freshness. It seemed as though little thought or effort was put into ensuring the quality of the meals.
The pinnacle of my distress was the extensive delay we experienced without any clear communication or adequate compensation. This not only disrupted my plans but also demonstrated a lack of respect for passengers’ time.
In conclusion, my experience with SunExpress was far from pleasant and I’m left with a bitter taste after this journey. I sincerely hope that my feedback will contribute to significant improvements in your service for the sake of...
Read moreI believe they are a budget airline who I feel were good for their flight from London Stansted to Turkey Antalya and back, given the price we paid, it was well worth it. The airline itself needs a better clean when changing passengers over and there were gum on the floor which was pleasant but seats were decent, seats recline too so that’s helpful and staff are extremely friendly. Their customer service centre (called before the flight) wasn’t too bad either and no premium number too and the staff on the airline and pilot were very warm, welcoming and friendly. I would use again in the future. Only two things I would say is, second row is not XL seat but sold as XL online, we were on first row outwards and with the space, it’s really good but on the way back, second row was not XL and not that great. And secondly, needs more of a variety of food.
Regarding check in, online check in otherwise £5-£10 fee to do it at the counter. Check in was smooth in London but Turkey Antalya was awful, long queues and very slow to get people check in (friendly people at the counter though) and they do cater to your needs. One luggage was damaged and pushchair slightly too, complained about one but I can’t fault the airline for it, it’s down to the attendants that throw your luggage into the hold.
Other than that, still a 5 star rating for a budget...
