Taverna Grigoris — Local services in Municipality of Heraklion

Well, simply amazing! Seems really a typical place. The waitress was really gentle and she brought us a menu's in English. There was not a huge smell of grilles meat, but just a sent of it since the kitchen was practically in the middle of the restourant :) We ordered 1L of still water, 500ml of wite wine, fried zucchini, tzaziky and the lamb. Sorry, we did not though to take a picture. Everything was really nice looking and the lamb so, so delicious! When I went to pay, the chefs had also a little talk with me. All in all, friendly employees, amazing food, really reasonable prices and not a trap for turist! Acrually, we were the only foreigners, and we received the same treatment. At the end, a dessert from the house, with a chocolate "brownies" (not sure if brownies, but i do not know the name) with an ice-cream ball of vanilla on top. Thanks again to all the staff! An...

Love this restaurant in Crete, Greece.

Pork crackling is so crispy and juicy. Lamb is golden brown outside and tender inside.

There is one dish I have to mention about it- A deep fry dish that is made with thin slices of zucchini coating in a thin layer of batter (that’s delicious)- must try it.

If you are in this island, the best restaurant to visit. Amazing food.

*They open at 6:30pm and there was a massive queue for takeout. So, go early...

Really great, roasted lamb and chicken. Served with roast potatoes and roast sliced courgette. Greek salad and tsasiki. Enough to feed any hungry person Very friendly family run business, packed with locals. A little difficult to find in the dark and the roads and pavements if any are somewhat hazardous. BUT it is worth the effort to go there. We will be back to try the spit roast pork. They also...
