Namma MTR — Local services in Bengaluru

Its one among those places in Bengaluru where I stop by if I drive through the road its situated. MTR is a well known brand of Karnataka with a great history. This store reflects that history while giving a modern experience of shopping.

It has a great collection of MTR ready to eat packaged foods, confectioneries, pickles, assorted food ingredients, mixes, ice cream and drinks of course. There use to be a small restaurant on first floor, but I'm not sure whether its still functional or not.

Ambience is really cool, occasionally they have live cooking shows of their packed food delicacies and free trails for customers. They have good parking space next to their premises for both two and four wheeler.

On negative side; despite of the fact that store is managed by the brand (MTR) itself, they won't offer any distinctive discounts. All the products are as per MRP. Other than that they make lot of mistakes while billing. Twice or thrice they have charged me 20-40% extra by increasing the quantity of item or by changing the item itself. So, beware and cross check your bill before leaving this store.

Whatever my experience may be, I still visit this store as every MTR product is available under one...

Many instant food varieties available. Very useful for travellers or who go to abroad for few months. Some of the instant foods are poha, masala upma, vegetable upma, bisibele bath, pongal, jeera rice, tomato rice, lemon rice, paneer butter masala, palak paneer etc. The preparation method depends on the item. Suppose for upma/poha just open the packet, pour into a bowl and put hot water. For remaining items there are about 3 methods which you can prepare. I am not a great fan of ice creams but This is the only place i eat ice creams....Earlier there used to be ice cream restaurant...but there is only outlet now...mtr has always been innovative...first they introduced ready to eat foods...now to beat the competition, they have come up with instant foods that u just add hot water and food is ready....since i come from marketing business, i love their packaging, branding etc....
