British tourist. First time in Delhi. I try to give honest views of places and I see that there are complaints of cooperation with tour guides. This is 100% happening but from my experience in travelling across the world this always happens, and every shop clearly has their own arrangements with other tour guides, it’s not just this site. Nonetheless, we did go in. The salesman spoke very good English that in fact we believed he might have lived in the UK or the states. He was very knowledgable about his products and we didn’t find him too pushy. We did chose to buy a range of spices (butter chicken, garam masala, and another) as well as some tea (vanilla assam and a mango green tea). They were not pushy on their sale and given how much we bought, we spent about £20. I cannot say if this is expensive compared to other shops in Delhi but compared to the UK this is relatively cheap. They bag it up in a confectionary wrapper (twix, Milky Way, etc) and seal it for your suitcase which made us chuckle and helpful for travelling home. This shop corroborate with ricksaw drivers so tourist are lead to this shop deceitfully. The Ricksaw driver stayed at the door for us to make a purchase, which probably meant they receive a comission for bringing in custom.
