PVR Cinemax Odeon Ghatkopar Mumbai — Local services in Mumbai

Ok so today i.e. on 1st May 2025 I went to watch a movie at PVR Ghatkopar which is in R Odean mall at 10:45 AM. The show timings on the ticket booking aplication says that the time for this show is at 10:45 AM. We reached the theather at 10:40 AM and the movie was not started till 11:05 AM. All the trailers, teasers, advertisements were going on for about 20 minutes, I mean really? The theatre owners should understand that people take out time for their lives to get entertained for what they have come to watch and not to watch bullshit Advertisements and teaser trailers for over 20 minutes. This act of wasting people' time should be stopped or minimised. The show should start at the timing listed. Second complaint is the behaviour of staff and fraudulent activities they do to the customers who during the interval or at anytime go to purchase food and beverages. With regards to the pricing there is no one to complaint and no one to stop these people to overcharge but when people are ready to pay what these people ask atleast they should give them what people have asked for. Today during the interval when I went to get cheese popcorn (large tub) these people gave me a mixture of salted (70%) and cheese (30%) popcorn to which I told them to get it replaced but they didn't respond or replaced it. They advertise it so much that if you don't get your bill, the order is on us! UTTER BULLSHIT!!! When I paid them, these people did not give me physical or electronic copy of the bill and then refused to give me the refund. Upon asking for a physical or electronic copy of the bill, these people took my phone and gave me and clicked a photo of the order they had given me. When I insisted them on giving me a proper bill, they mentioned in the bill (Salted popcorn and not cheese popcorn). This is clearly a money and / or tax fraud from PVR people. I couldn't eat the popcorn as these people had served me with the salted and cheese popcorn and so while the show was running I had to get up and told them to give me my refund. The head of the food and beverage told me that the bill cannot be altered and cannot refund me or replace it. Such a rude behaviour cannot be tolerated. I mean who are these people to talk to us in a rude way or deny our requests even after paying them the absurd charges these people ask for. If the owner/ manager of this PVR Cinema is reading this review, please note that someone someday can go to court to file / lodge a complaint against you and your staff and there can be grave damages / losses which you'll have to face as ordered by the Hon'ble Court and the cinema can even be shut for such rude, negligence, irresponsible, inappropriate, unethical behaviour and also for fraud of money / tax. Recently, I had the delightful opportunity to experience the cinematic magic at R Odeon cinemas, and I must say, it left me thoroughly impressed. While the technology used for screening might be considered standard, it is the overall ambiance and pricing that truly set this place apart.

As I stepped into the cinema, I was immediately captivated by the inviting atmosphere and well-designed interiors. The theater exuded a sense of comfort and elegance, making it an ideal place to unwind and immerse oneself in the world of movies.

Speaking of pricing, R Odeon cinemas pleasantly surprised me with its reasonable rates. Ticket prices were affordable, making it an accessible choice for moviegoers seeking quality entertainment without a hefty price tag.

However, one minor drawback I noticed was the lack of two-wheeler parking, which could be inconvenient for some visitors. I couldn't confirm if there was four-wheeler parking available, but it would be wise to check beforehand if arriving by car.

While the cinematic experience was indeed exceptional, I must admit that the food options were a bit disappointing. The prices were overly inflated, particularly the popcorn, which seemed exorbitantly priced at 500/- a tub. Such high rates for snacks felt unjustified and might deter some movie enthusiasts from indulging in the culinary offerings.

Nevertheless, if you are a movie lover residing in Ghatkopar East, R Odeon cinemas is undoubtedly the place to be. Its inviting ambiance, reasonable pricing for tickets, and the allure of the silver screen make it a top-notch destination for an enjoyable movie-watching experience. It's a very good theatre. Watched Pathan at screen 4. The experience was good. At very Nominal rates. First The Screen video quality was very Good it was Bright and sharp. Audio quality is where PVR stands out than most multiplexes. The BGM stereo sound effects were very good. Could hear sound from left right back wherever the movie scenes had it. But I found the bass was little lacking as compared to other PVR theatres but PVR sound is much much better than INOX. IMHO. The seats are very comfortable and in the last row there is recliners only one drawback i found that the normal seats were little narrow which could be uncomfortable for people having more weight near their thighs and legs. But still very comfortable with the sliding mechanism. Front Leg resting space is good too. The washroom were clean. They have drinking water facility and Food area. Didn't tried food.
