No wise cracks when I start this. Getting straight to the point.
By far, the best biryani I have had these days. The very best.
A few days ago (weeks), during a particularly longer lunch break (many people except me are vacationing) I decided to give TBK a try judging by their grand thaal parties (never got to attend one)
So.. yea, you get the setting. My order was placed at around 12:30 ish I guess and my expected delivery time was around 45 minutes. When hungry, time passes tremendously so, hunger pangs get excruciating, more so in this case, since the delivery was pretty late than expected. (Which is the only place they are losing points)
Finally, a good hour and 15 minutes later, I got my hands on my thali and thanks to the feral nature of my hunger, I was ready to give a negative review then and there itself. The angel on my right prevailed.
The food :-
Russian Cutlet - Soft, tender meat, with just the right amount of spices.. Kinda oily but, great taste nonetheless.
Potato Salad - I don't really like potatoes and salads, so I wouldnt comment on that's both.
THE BIRYANI - The pièce de résistance, a nice layered biryani, frankly, I was expecting two or (I wish) three dry pieces of chicken, but what surprised me was the fact they had layered the biryani with bite sized pieces of chicken, with enough gravy so as to not make it a really dry biryani. Somewhat sweet, somewhat spicy, all around mild, the way a biryani should be, with a generous layer of the succulent chicken chunks, kinda like how my mother would serve. Will definitely order again
Dessert - The dessert, for me wasn't really all that great. It had all kinds of dryfruit, mixed in with semolina, I guess, like a very dry Sheeran, but just much more dryfruit with a distinct flavour of ghee sporting in between bites.
Long story short, this is one of the best biryani a you can get in Worli area, at a pretty great price
TBK doesn't disappoint (except in...
Read moreThe Bohri Kitchen is a place which serves authentic bohri food across mumbai. They have outlets located in worli, juhu and kamala mills (flea bazar cafe). Worli being the delivery outlet. I was craving for biryani since a long time and me being a crazy biryani lover couldn't resist ordering some delicious food.
I ordered from this place a non veg thali combo and chicken kheema samosas.
The food got delivered on time and it was pipping hot with nice & hygienic packing.
The non veg thali contained Chicken Afghani Biryani : the biryani was my main judgement. And turn outs to be the best. As the pack was opened room filled with classic biryani aroma. Loved succulent pieces of shredded chicken and basmati combined well with fried crisp onions.
Raita : biryani is incomplete without raita. So a salted raita containing cucumber tomato onion was served
Chicken Russian Cutlet: one big piece of chicken Russian cutlet. The chicken was tender and soft. Fried egg rolled on outer side enhanced the taste.
Badam Halwa : the halwa was made in pure ghee and was melt in mouth. The dessert was well prepared keeping in mind the biryani and stuff.
Chicken Kheema Samosa : the 3 pieces of crispy fried samosa were pipping hot. The outer layer. The I side filling of chicken kheema was so flavourful with moist chicken and indian spices
Overall my experience with the bohri kitchen was worthwhile and to be enjoyed till now.
Guys must try this delivery kitchen...
Read moreHave tried so many places and so many varieties of Biryanis but the aroma here was incredible and sucha Royal dish it seemed,. We loved the ample amount of chicken pieces. It was indeed very rich. The rice were not too sticky and masaledaar but properly separable and chewable.I
We had
Pakki Murgh Bohri Biryani - Can't wait for you all to experience the aroma and royalty of this dish. It's a must try Biryani. Consisted of a proper packaging that kept it warm for long and non sticky rice and absolute aroma. The chicken pieces were big, boiled, masaledar and just below the rice layer. Go for it. 1 person order is also enough for 2 if you would want to have other and this dish along.Serves Katchumbar too!
Chicken Russian Cutlet - Amazing taste amazing chutneys. To be honest the cutlets were 2 pieces and not enough because the taste was so good one would want more or it. No doubt this too is a must try dish. The sweet chutney was sooo good made out of tamarind, just loved it and ofcourse the other Mirch Pudina chutney too!
Chicken Cheese Shahi Roll - They were fine cheesy, medium long, contained proper Indian Masalas that were tasteable when chewed! It was soft and cheesy. Great taste and yes tasted superb with the chutneys of Bohri Kitchen.
Moong dal halwa- That got a little simpler for a dessert but liked its taste. It was fine and fresh.
Overall loved the taste, the packaging and the delivery on time...
