Pathetic is probably an understatement for this lounge. some facts from our 2 visits at the lounge in 3 days. Regretted the 3nd visit way more than the 1st. We saw a cockroach near the tea counter. When the staff was told, they didn't even react. As if they didn't understand what was the problem with a cockroach being on the food counter The food labels were all over the place. Vegetarian food was labelled non-vegetarian, ""Palak Paneer" was labeled "Baingan Bharta" and vice versa. I swapped it thinking it to be an innocent mistake. The lounge manager saw it and immediately called the staff on duty and started publicly humiliating him. Not just that, the staff member who was being scolded was the least bit bothered. He walked away to dust off another counter in the middle of his scolding, then came back, then nodded along (pretty sure he wasn't listening) and then walked off too. The manager commanded zero respect or authority. The food quality is seriously poor. Its probably the most terrible food I have had in India. It probably takes special effort to make food this bad which is why I am shocked because nobody at this lounge is interested in making any effort for anything. Tables are left littered by leftover food, nobody checks on anyone, staff refuses to help people etc. Staff is also really impolite. No smiles, no respect. Shouting at each other things like, "You are encouraging these guests to make demands" (There were maybe 6 people in the lounge when this happened). They act as if you caused them discomfort by asking for the WiFi passcode or if tea was available.
Highly recommend everyone to not go to this lounge. The plaza premium lounge next door and the food court are both far...
Read moreWhat impressed me the most is their disability restroom. It might be the best in India and maybe the world. I travel a lot. When my wife was alive her last trip to Nepal was by wheel chair. I have to take a wheelchair at large airports especially after a flight but that does not stop me from traveling. 4 million miler. I have seen it all. The only issue that I don’t understand is why don’t they have an area like Delta One at JFk. As soon as you are dropped off you are seated and a wheelchair comes to you. You don’t use what energy you have to drag your way to a GATE COUNTER. THE GUARD AT CHECK IN SAID GO TO GATE. ITS ON MY TICKET I NEEDED TRANSPORT. I EVEN went through special assistance. Puzzled I asked an Air India employee who just looked at me. I tried to ask check in why no ASSITANCE She just stared at me and said I will call. I carry papers, IDS, medical card about my disability. Look with an aging global population this issue needs to be addressed NOW! The Economist wrote an article on why Europeans and Americans aren’t coming to India. Besides special services, after a month I can tell you there are other issues. I just spent days at an ITC in New Delhi because I am a devoted fan of MARRIOTT when traveling for business but believe me- it’s...
Read morei was there about half an hour ago. When i stepped in,a clean and quiet was my impression on the lounge. When i approached the counter,i asked the receptionist that i had forgoten to comfirm if my request of fruit platter was still as i had changed my itenary eaelier, see if they could help me to check. ‘You have to wait ya!’was the answer. I was kind of taken a back, but thinking that perhaps i was too rush to ask them question before she scanned my lounge pass. The other lady took over and scanned my pass, she then asked me to wait. I had some snacks from the lounge and waited for someone to come back to me. Almost 40 mins had gone. Not even someone come to tell me the outcome. One receptionist walked passed shouted!Anyone going to Chantigar!’when she walked passed me,i waved at her.She asked’going to Chanttigar!’i said no.Before i could ask further, she just turned her head and walked away.OMG!! I asked for the supervisor in the lounge and explained what had happened. He was kind enough to help me to check and apologise on behalf of their behaviour. To my surprised,he told me something that it was beyong his control about the staff behaviour. Good luck to you Air India. This is how the service that your ground support provided...
