I came to this place because of the good reviews from the others...boy was I disappointed!! Service was nice, presentation was good, but if you’re looking for authentic curry, DON’T COME HERE.
The curry sauce tasted like it came from a can, i asked for spicy balti but it did not come spicy at all, nor did the vindaloo have any kick to it. My balti tasted exactly like canned masala sauce, and even though the servers repeated my order back to me AND repeated my order when it was served, I later saw on the bill that the chefs had not cooked a balti...which was very frustrating because the servers repeated my order to me 3 times.
Rest of the curries we ordered tasted like they were from similar canned sauces, with variations of more or less black pepper in each. Pappodoms were nice, naans were on the dry side, my boiled rice was over boiled.
I’m really not sure how other people call the food here authentic.
Plus, had to wait 1 hour for the food to show up on our table, despite the fact that we arrived...
Read moreWent here for first time because it came up with the highest rating for Indian food in Cork City. It was a disappointment on many levels! Take away for two people and I was there when restaurant opened. Was told food would take 25 to 30min because chefs had to get kitchen ready! Chefs should have been there an hour or more before restaurant opened! Owners fault, not chefs! Food was dry, with a white sauce that was like something that you would buy in a supermarket. The dish itself had no vegetables even though every other restaurant makes it with vegetables and when googled all answers with vegetables in ingredients. Chicken was dry, sauce was terrible, meal itself best described as boring for what should be a treat at my weekend. Was like how an Irish person (I'm Irish) "had a go" at Indian cooking! Very disappointing and wouldn't be in a hurry to go back. Gets 3 stars simply on the cost which was...
Read moreI think the quality of the food here has suffered since their change to just takeaway service only. Food quality is just OK. Ordered the Chicken Jalfrezi and Chicken Tikka Masala. A very small amount of thinly sliced chicken in the Jalfrezi, which was very dry and overcooked, as a likely consequence of this. The Sauce tasted nice but the dish was not very substantial…I was still hungry when I had finished it. With the rice as an extra cost to the dish, the small Amount of chicken and small portion, it’s very poor value for the price. I understand the concept of quality over quantity, but if you’re still hungry after you’ve eaten it, well what’s the point in that. I won’t be rushing back there unfortunately…such a pity as the standard was better when it was operating as...
