Dolcevita Suite — Local services in Florence

First of all, the location on the google map is wrong. Please type the address on the google map instead of the accommodation name. It actually takes good 10 mins on rough road to get to the main station which is florence santa maria novella station. With the suitcases, it is very hard to walk. It is not located in tourist area, so there is no shops, convenient stores or restaurants nearby. Very incenvenient.

Secondly, they charge extra €35 (€25 cleaning fee for the stay + €10 tourist tax) by cash. When we made reservation, the website never mentioned about this fee. Only after booking, the website mentioned that the management might charge extra AU$50 as we made reservation by Australian website. Since the reservation had no cancellation policy, we couldnt cancel any more and we had to give €35 which was close to the half of the daily usage of the accommodation. Be aware.

Thirdly the aircon never works. It is very hot. The accommodation is located on level 3 without elevator. The manager asked us to leave windows closed due to mosquitos. And aircon never works. Very hot.

Lastly, since this is not a hotel, you will need to organize to get a key from the manager beforehand. When you need to ask questions about tourist sights, there is no one at reception like hotel. We definitely prefered to have someone on site who we cld have asked a few tips and questions about tourist sights or restaurant suggestions.

The administration of these apartments is very unpleasant. The sofa bed is incredibly uncomfortable, with a sagging mattress even when unoccupied. They provided us with only two tiny bottles of shampoo for 4 people over 4 nights. When we requested more shampoo, trash bags, and toilet paper, they were unwilling to supply these basic necessities. They even claimed that it was the responsibility of previous guests to leave a clean trash bag.

However, the WORST issue, and the MAIN reason I decided to write this negative review, is due to the BROKEN DOOR LOCK. According to them, this has been a long-standing problem, since they had contacted a technician but had not yet found a solution. I have stayed in one of the suites of this structure and I had a great time here. Everything was perfect! The bed was extremely comfortable.
