Gastronomia di Bonardi Piero — Local services in Milan

We were visiting Milan and didn't feel like eating out after a long day walking around, we happened upon this place and decided to take away some food and eat it back in our accommodation. We bought lots of small portions of a selection of local specialities: porcini mushrooms, artichokes with porcini, small sweet onions, trippa, potato puree, and milky veal that apparently is only prepared in this way around Xmas time. All good and satisfying. We were a bit surprised when it worked out to be around €50, but not too shocked given the quality and selection.

We think it would be better if the prices were displayed, to give more control on how much one wants to spend. But on the other hand, maybe we would have been put off and wouldn't have tried some of the nice things we had.

Overall we're very happy we came...

Dopo aver comprato 3 filoncini, chiedo al proprietario di metterci dell’affettato. In 2 panini scelgo la porchetta… 1 fetta di porchetta (alta 1 centimetro) tagliata al coltello, 1 di numero per panino. Crepi l’avarizia, in uno di questi due chiedo se può mettere un po’ di cipolla in agrodolce. Il proprietario prende un quarto di una cipolla da un vassoio (preparato in precedenza) e la mette nel panino. Nel terzo panino scelgo del salame (fatto dal proprietario): lì è stato generoso, 4 fettine totali. Ci aggiungo 2 pacchetti di cracker tondi all’olio.

E’ un posto del cuore, ci andiamo da anni e si siamo sempre trovati benissimo. La qualità è molto alta, più da ristorante che da rosticceria. La domenica prepara spesso la paella, sempre molto buona. Producono loro un tipo di salame che vendono e devo dire che è eccezionale. Servizio sempre attento e professionale, condito con il calore delle botteghe di una volta. Uno dei pochissimi posti rimasti dove ogni tanto si sente pronunciare qualche frase in milanese. Prezzi adeguati alla qualità....
