Villa Comunale — Local services in Naples

The boulevard of Lungomare Carracciolo stretches all the way along the coast of Naples. It owes its name to Admiral Francesco Caracciolo, a historical hero of Naples from the 18th century. He was executed for his rebellion in the sea near the coast. Lungomare therefore means the part of the city that has a sea view. The park seems to be closed and abandoned. I got lucky someone left right when I wanted to visit the aquarium or else I wouldn't have gotten in. It's a big fenced in area with gates locked so if you want to get to the other side you have to walk all the way around. People inside will try to get you to leave until you make them understand that you want to visit the aquarium or museum. Once a Royal Garden only reserved for the members of the royal family of King Ferdinand IV, it is now unfortunately only a glimpse of what i imagine the parc used to be... It's poorly maintained, with dry grass and litter scattered around. It's a shame because, despite the neglect, you can still see glimpses of the glory it once had. With a bit of investment and the locals taking better care of it, this park could be easily be one of the many highlights naples...
