Once again extremely disappointed,not in regards of the staff but for something that is clearly a managerial decision . This must be the 10th time I’m refused to be given a paper handbag and invited to buy a fabric shopping bag . Paper bags where clearly available at the self check out tills , but the staff said at the minute those tills where not accessible for unspecified reasons . This is clearly nothing more than a cheap trick to enhance the grossing of the shop . I’m a frequent flyer and I’ve noticed this happening more frequently during peak touristic season . Only 2 slow manned check outs open causing a large queue (how 2 staff can be expected to service all flyers through Napoli airport at 1:30pm is beyond me). Other staff standing behind closed counters chatting catching up. No plastic bags available even if you're buying something humidity sensitive. Staff on phones. No thank yous or your welcomes, just grunting and directing 'PIN' when you need to enter one to depart with your money. Incorrect labelling of prices. Customer service has much to improve here. Read moreNot as bad as people make out, so I guess they have improved. Our cashier definitely made it very clear that the gift bag was €3.90 and that we got a bag for the spirits anyway and that there was no real need for the extra bag if we could fit the few extra things in our existing bags.
Something I overheard that may be of interest to tobacco buyers is that since the UK is now non-EU, it works out cheaper to buy tobacco on exit at duty free, rather than from a tobacco shop in Italy. I think I saw something like €91 for a 2 carton pack of a well known brand...
