Dear Tradizione Italiana,
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the appalling treatment my partner and I experienced at Naples Airport on August 4, 2024. The incident occurred at the Tradizione Italiana café, where we were subjected to unprofessional and discriminatory behavior by the staff, which subsequently involved airport security and police for no legitimate reason.
Upon our arrival at the café, we asked a staff member if we could charge our phones, and we were directed to a table where we could do so. However, within minutes, we were rudely told to leave the table, despite other customers remaining seated comfortably. When I respectfully asked for an explanation, I was informed that the other customers had ordered before us. I then indicated that I intended to order a drink from the bar, but the waitress responded in an appallingly hostile manner, threatening to call security if we did not leave.
I requested to speak to the manager, who eventually came over. I explained the situation in detail, only to be met with a blank expression and a dismissive nod. After explaining the situation for several minutes, the manager informed me that she did not speak English and did not understand anything I had said. Despite this frustrating interaction, I complied with their request to sit outside and charge my phone.
I then showed the manager numerous negative reviews about the café to highlight the pattern of unprofessional behavior and to raise my concerns. She ignored my concerns and abruptly stated that she would not tolerate any more discussion on the matter, subsequently calling airport security.
Security personnel escorted me to the airport information desk, where I was initially told that I could file a complaint form. However, after a brief conversation in Italian between the staff, they reversed their decision and directed me to their website, claiming they only handle flight information.
Returning to my partner, I discovered that the charging dock had been switched off, despite assurances that we could use it as long as needed. When I asked the manager why it was turned off, she ignored me and walked away. In seeking an explanation, another staff member called security, who then threatened to involve the police and detain me. One of the security officers even attempted to cancel my check-in, further escalating the situation.
Ultimately, I was left feeling defeated and stressed by the egregious service and treatment we received. As I walked towards my departure gate, a café employee made a disrespectful gesture, implying I was crazy. My partner confronted her about this inappropriate behavior, but she did not respond.
This entire experience has caused me significant stress and anxiety. I believe my human rights were blatantly disregarded, and I was treated as though I had no voice. I am requesting that this matter be escalated to the highest priority and thoroughly investigated. If not handled urgently, I will be pursuing legal...

The lady checking me out told me I needed to show her which sandwich I wanted, so I did. She did not give me a receipt because she had ME MOVE TO SHOW HER WHICH ITEM…and then REFUSED to give me my donut and Coke Zero because I didn’t have a receipt!? 👏🏼 Lady, you know you charged me for all of it, I just paid!!
She was the absolutely rudest person I encountered while on vacation, and I know it was because I was American. I even pulled up my payment on chase to show her, and told her how she asked me to show her the sandwich and never gave me a receipt.
I’ll be disputing with my credit card company. Just ridiculous and anytime I tried to ask others for help, they were rude too. All the employees were chaotic and there was no order whatsoever with the whole process.The sandwich was terrible, similar to a subway sandwich after several days sitting out....

I said no one told me if I wanted this as a take away or not! And okay I will pay the difference no worry! We waited for someone so I can pay the difference no one gave me any attention! Until they told me to go the red headed lady with glasses by the tables! I went there for more than 10min she ignored me! And kept telling me to wait! When I told her I have been waiting for 10 minutes she started screaming in Italian! It was the worst encounter I have had in Europe! A terrible person like that should not be serving people!
