Marenna Assaggi — Restaurant in Naples

So to start with- I met my sister and cousins who were already in the queue as I’d quickly popped to the shop. They were behind one of those retractable belt barriers and I stood outside of it just talking to them. For no reason whatsoever a member of staff came over and actually pulled another barrier around me and was yanking it literally against/on me and pulling faces so I was awkwardly sectioned off on my own.

Once we were seated- we were barely given a second before staff started hovering over us we hadn’t even opened the menus when they came to take our order. In the space of about two minutes they came over four separate times - we felt really rushed

I ordered the smoked salmon bagel which came out suspiciously fast. Smoked salmon is usually served cold but it was clearly microwaved the salmon was warm, mushy, and disgusting.

After finishing we asked for the bill twice because they forgot the first time leaving us waiting over five minutes. When we tried to get their attention to pay we had to call out multiple times as they kept ignoring us. Eventually when someone did come over & he seemed visibly annoyed that we wanted to split the bill and started rolling his eyes & muttering under his breath.

All in all completely disorganised… rude staff and awful food. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. 100% go find somewhere else to eat...

All the waiters and waitresses seemed to be super rude to everyone except for Italians and Americans (assuming this is because they tip).

Waitress didn’t actually seem to be paying attention when taking our order and was more interested in checking the time every 10 seconds…

Waited 30 minutes for reheated food which all came out at different times somehow…and received our drinks part way through the meal(?) the pizza came and it was so hard I couldn’t actually bite into it, at least it provided a little bit of comedy to a horrible experience.

Asked for the bill to the rude waiter who POINTED us to our table when we first came in (who later walked an American couple to theirs and gave them water and menus and spoke to them so lovely!). He rolled his eyes and walked off. after waiting for 15 minutes for our bill we begin to pack up and lo and behold there is our bill finally.

Couldn’t actually believe the price it came to but couldn’t actually be bothered arguing so paid it despite any of the food...

Awful experience with a side of food poisoning. We were sat well before other groups but the male waiters preferred to take the orders of the female tables before our tables. The waiter then proceeded to become rude after we asked if we could take our order. One waiter demanded, “ you must wait, you must wait, you must wait”. Pathetic attempt at customer service in my opinion. After our poor representation and missing order of Italian coffee and cakes, my wife started to receive a stomach illness which she have never experienced in her...
