A foreigners review for the U.S.A ❤️
Amazing location. Just a short jaunt to a lovely town near Mt. Fuji. Staff felt like family and treated us warmth and kindness. The experience was one I will be talking about forever 😊
The private homes were lovely and very, very quite. we stayed in October, and the weather when using the open air bathing area was perfect. One day it rained and it created the most tranquil atmosphere. Not a bug in sight 🥳
A few notes to fellow travelers. 1: Fill the outdoor bath about 80% of the way to 44c THEN set the temperature to 55c and add more water as needed. 60c will burn ya 😉🔥
2: Visit The Pagoda - it was awesome!
3: 5 minutes to the 7/11 and a super market
4: Visit the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway - super cool
5: visit CAFETINO MT.FUJI COFFEE SHOP - 10/10 breakfast
A few recommendations for the property: 1: add another set of western style pillows to the rooms. The Japanese bead pillows are personally not my favorite. And having more back support options is always a plus.
2: the bathing area could use a dedicate small stool. We ended up using the one from the shower.
3: the bathing area water scoop was terrible. the handle is awful and it has a hole in it.
4: provide a change of sheet's
5: double the amount of towels or at least the hand rags. We were given 4 of each.
6: Add a small shoe / slipper rack at the front door. There’s one on the back porch but it’s not immediately obvious or convenient.
7: place translation stickers on the hot water controls or have an English instruction sheet as the tech was confusing at first 😅
8: the 2nd floor large window could benefit from a...

Right from the start everything was so wonderful. The min we entered the driveway we were in awed! The staff were all so kind and friendly, with free flow ice cream my 4 year old was very sad we had to leave (he cried while we drove off) haha.
The villa we got was a Pet version(this was the only one we could choose during our dates), it was beautiful. We love the toilet and a small outdoor onsen tho a huge spider gave me such a rude shock while I was soaking quietly one night, that’s how close we are to nature.
The very well equipped and clean kitchen is such a bonus as well, teas and coffee provided! And we didn’t had a chance to do Shabu Shabu(the hotpot was even provided). With our fav supermarket just 5mins drive away we should have really BBQ or have Shabu Shabu under the stars!
The bed and duvet provided was so comfortable though I wished there’s more pillows provided! My little boy slept on the futon and he had no complains but It’s definitely not comfortable if you are not used to the jap way of sleeping on tatami.
Some feedback: hooks in the living room area will be nice to hang out coats/jackets/bags. The rooms should have blackout curtains to full block out the sun(esp during months the sun rises early). Having the lobby open 24/7 accessible to hotel guests so we can do laundry, get condiments and even enjoy some ice cream on a hot night...
Read moreHad stayed FJ Forest during our recent trip to Kawaguchiko. The staff were friendly and tried their best to explain the rules and regulations when checking in. The kids loved the free ice creams for guests and also they provide free condiments to bring back to your own room for cooking.
The accomodation is relatively new and looks impressive. Only issue we had is the the space in the rooms are quite tight especially the one with the queen size bed. Difficult to open up our luggages. But the living room area with the kitchen is nice and cosy and good gathering place at night after a day of sightseeing. Compliments to the kitchen which is very well equipped. Overall we likes the experience.
They are also dog-friendly and some of the...
