Gokurakuji Station — Local services in Kamakura

Gokurakuji Station was the first spot I visited in my Kamakura journey. Even if I got this station in first time, it filled lots of memories in my mind, which in a Japanese drama named "My Second Last Love" (Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi, 最後から二番目の戀).

The Gokurakuji station is a high frequent scene where the leading actors chat and bickering. It is a famous drama in Japanese's heart and leads a tourism boom to Kamakura. There is a drama pic in the station showed in my picture.

I came here in the hydrangea season. It grows everywhere, whose soft purple is very fit the comfortable environment...

Hidden in green, Gokurakuji feels like stepping into a haiku. Wooden gates, bamboo groves, and the faint scent of incense define the air. The platform itself seems to breathe peace.

Tourist Tip: Visit the nearby Gokurakuji Temple, famous for hydrangeas in early summer. The short lane outside the station is...

2023/05/28再訪追記 江ノ電藤沢駅から大体25分ぐらいで到着する極楽寺駅です。こちらは極楽寺という有名なお寺があるので、そちらへの最寄りアクセス駅となります。駅自体実は新しく改装されたこともあり、とても綺麗で色々と最新式の設備が取り入れられています。特に電光掲示板系は非常に綺麗で、かつ駅の外にあるトイレもとても清潔で、身体障害者用の誰でもトイレなどはとても便利に利用することができます。また、駅前の自転車置き場も非常にたくさんの自転車が停められるようになっており、とても重宝します。

江ノ電の各駅は最近はどこもかなりキレイに改修されています。極楽寺駅もその一つで、駅自体はすでにかなり新しくきれいになっています。駅出口すぐのところに郵便ポストがありますが、昔懐かしの丸形郵便ポストで、すごく絵になります。

極楽寺駅出たところ直ぐに、極楽とんぼというお店があるのがちょっとご愛嬌ですね。

駅周辺は六月頃は紫陽花があちらこちら咲き誇っており、とても綺麗です。
