Stumbled across this stall while walking to Oshino Hakkai. The 'kusa mochi' (literally: grass mochi) caught my eye with the grandma grilling the mochis saying "oishii desu yo", so I decided to give it a try.

This might be the best snack/dessert I've had in my Japan trip! I wasn't sure what 'grass' is used for the greenish colour, but it seems to be a local herb called 'yomogi'. Didn't expect that to go so well with the snack which is sweet and filled with red bean paste!
